. This study reports the applicability of hydrological modeling, HEC-HMS, integrated with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to examine the rainfall - runoff relationship with a case study of Upper Ciliwung watershed. Spatial rainfall data derived from radar data used in the process of simulating rainfall - runoff and the results are compared with simulation results using the observed rainfall data. Analysis of the rainfall-runoff simulation was conducted based on spatial approach by comparing the differences and similarities between sub catchments. The simulations carried out for the flood events in 2002, 2007 and 2013. The results of the simulation of rainfall …

Border mapping is an activity which could be done continuously as the region develops. Many kinds of methods in border mapping have been done, and each has strength and weakness. Technology of remote sensing which continues to develop can be used to optimize border mapping to be more efficient. Remote sensing is one of the way to know the condition of earth surface, which in border mapping uses high resolution image, Quickbird image. The spatial accuracy of Quickbird image which reaches 2.4 meters per pixel can be used to monitor land use, to be created into a map which gives …

Rainfall is highly variable climate elements, either in space or time scale. Variation of this rainfall will have an impact on the determination of the start of the planting of rice plants in particular. Through a statistical calculation and mapping of spatial data, this research will reveal a pattern of early growing season in response to rainfall variability in Kebumen Regency over a period of thirty years, i.e. 1981-2010. Spatial analysis with a reinforced approach statistics reveal that the coastal region in Kebumen Regency have a high rainfall variability with an average of rainfall is low. The availability of a complete, accurate and up to date islands’ data and information can be a reference for the government in developing the potential of islands in Indonesia. National Team for Standardization Topographic Names (TNPNR) has standardized a number of 13.466 names in the Indonesian island Gazetteer in 2013, including 35 islands in East Lombok. A validation activity through field survey which was conducted in 2016 discovered the discrepancies in toponyms or existing status of several islands in the East Lombok. To respond the Asian financial crisis in 1997-1999, the governments of Indonesia and Malaysia took different measures to their macroeconomic policies. The government of Indonesia tightened their fiscal and monetary policies, discontinued their intervention in foreign exchange market, and liberalized various sectors of economics while the government of Malaysia adopted expansive monetary and fiscal policies, continued their intervention in foreign exchange market, and controlled capital flows. Why was the same crisis responded by different macroeconomic policies? Why did the crisis lead to liberalized macroeconomic policies change in Indonesia, but the same thing did not happen in Malaysia? Previous studies have …

Kekalahan Cambodia People’S Party Di Wilayah Urban Kamboja Pada Pemilu Tahun 2013, Farizan Fajari
Jurnal Politik
Cambodia is one of the countries that implements electoral authoritarianism system. This condition is misused by the ruling party, the Cambodia People’s Party or CPP, as the means to dominate the parliament until the 2008 election. However, the political party power distribution in Cambodia has undergone drastical change in the 2013 election. In this election, the CPP seats decreased significantly, which was the worst result for CPP since the 1998 election. The decrease was mainly caused by the failure of CPP to enchant the voters in four urban areas with high proportion of seats in parliament: Kampong Cham, Pnom Penh, …

Pengaruh Institusi Regional Terhadap Konvergensi Kebijakan Antarnegara: Studi Kasus Asean Open Skies, Dea Malinda Azalia

This article analyzes the effect of regional economic integration on cross-national policy through the ASEAN Open Skies treaty, particularly in Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore. This qualitative research applies the concepts of intergovernmentalist-supranationalist regional institution and causal-mechanism that lead to cross-national policy convergence. I argue that ASEAN regionalism as an intergovernmentalist institution affects the process of policymaking, the implementation of ASEAN Open Skies in the regional level, and the adoption of it in the domestic level. The process of international harmonization and transnational communication (transnational problem solving) during the arrangement of the air transport cooperation frameworks in ASEAN has made the …

Masyarakat: Jurnal Sosiologi
The Ahmadiyya religious group has been present in Indonesia since the 1920s. The reli- gious group is divided into two different subgroups, namely Gerakan Ahmadiyah Indone- sia (GAI) and Jemaat Ahmadiyah Indonesia (JAI). In the reform era, the JAI community has to face a less favorable situation. The Heresy Fatwa issued by Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) in 1980 had put this group into an even more difficult position. The reform era government seemed to give a greater opportunity for anti-Ahmadiyya dominant Islamic groups to commit violence towards this group. JAI communities in various areas expe- rienced various forms of discrimination …

The growing revival of religious sentiments in the past few decades exposes serious faults in the explanatory power of the so-called modernization theories, urging social scien- tists to seek new avenues in understanding the phenomena. The article focuses on the way the present character of religious fundamentalism needs to be understood not as a form of traditionalism but as one of the springboard effects inseparable from hybrid modernity. In particular, it highlights the tension between religious fundamentalism and democracy as revolving around at least two points. One is the antinomy between diver- sity as the sine-qua-non of democracy and the …

Nowadays, technological innovations and sciences have reached the stage of modification and improvement of the capacity of the human body. This technology varies from prosthetic devices, implants, plastic surgery, drugs, genetic engineering, nanotechnology, and others. Several previous studies have shown that the advancement of this technological intervention has created a consumer culture of human enhancement products and services, for instance, non-therapeutic drugs. However, previous discussions about human enhancement products and services failed to provide further explanation on morphological freedom from the perspective of consumer culture. Morphological freedom is an individual right to modify or otherwise, refuse to modify one’s physical …
