The American Liberalism Of Eleanor Roosevelt, Janet Wolfe
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
A biographical study of the life of Eleanor Roosevelt was undertaken to explore the various obstacles she was required to overcome as she grew to become an influential figure in the world of liberal politics. During the New Deal years her influence was most visible as she traveled across the country and relayed to her husband the concerns of the average man. As a delegate to the United Nations, after the death of her husband, Eleanor's devotion toward attaining a United Nations which would keep peace among all nations and her ability to carry out tasks in a patient and …

Women And The New International Economic Order, Karima Korayem
Faculty Book Chapters
The objective of this paper is to examine the impact of the New International Economic Order (NIEO) on women in the Arab World. We shall discuss this impact in two steps: First, the implications of the NIEO for the economies of the Arab countries. Second, and on the basis of that, the impact of the NIEO on the educational and employment profiles of Arab women. However, to find out what effect the NIEO will have on the educational and employment profiles of Arab women, one should first get acquainted with these profiles as they stand. Women And Work In Egypt, Earl L. Sullivan
Women And Work In Egypt, Earl L. Sullivan
Faculty Book Chapters
This brief study of the role of women in the labor force of Egypt has occupied my time and attention, off and on, for about two years. While I alone am responsible for the final result, a number of people have helped reduce its deficiencies in one way or another and I owe each of them a special debt. Matilda Toma and Nadia Hanna each typed parts of the paper and Edith Dimond prepared the final manuscript for publication. Adel Labban helped in some of the early stages of data collection and Soha Abdel Kadar, Raymond Baker, Kareen Aboul Kheir …

Sexual Harassment Of Working Women: An Exploratory Study, Cheryl Mcmichaels
Sexual Harassment Of Working Women: An Exploratory Study, Cheryl Mcmichaels
Masters Theses
The purpose of this study was to empirically investigate the subject of sexual harassment. A total of 82 women were recruited from central Illinois to fill out a questionnaire on sexual harassment and the Assertiveness Inventory (Gambrill and Richey, 1975). An attempt was made to control the subjects for occupational levels. Their occupational levels ranged from physician to unskilled worker, and their educational levels ranged from a high school degree to an advanced degree. The women in this sample worked full-time, part-time, and did volunteer work.
All of the women filled out the Assertiveness Inventory, a 40-item self-report, (Gambrill and …
