The Financial Instability Hypothesis: An Interpretation Of Keynes And An Alternative To "Standard Theory", Hyman P. Minsky Ph.D.

Hyman P. Minsky Archive

There are four versions of this paper given here. The first, some two years earlier than the other three, was prepared for the 1975 ASSA Conference and the Society of Government Economists, December 29, 1975. The second two versions, almost identical, were prepared for publication. They appeared in March/April 1977 issue of Challenge, and in the Winter, 1977 issue of the Nebraska Journal of Economics and Business. The archives also had the fourth version, differing only slightly from the published versions, that had no firm date.

The final archives here are an editorial letter from Wallace C. Peterson, …

Implications Of Microeconomic Theory For Community Excess Demand Functions, Rolf R. Mantel

Cowles Foundation Discussion Papers

A series of results, related to Sonnenschein’s conjecture that Walras’ Law is the only significant restriction microeconomic theory imposes on community demand and excess demand functions are surveyed and extended. These results have important implications for general equilibrium theory, both in questions of existence and stability, and for empirical work.

Facing The Economic Issue, Clayton K. Yeutter Aug 1975

Facing The Economic Issue, Clayton K. Yeutter

Clayton K. Yeutter, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Papers

Perhaps the most significant item on America's unfinished agenda is the status of our economy. We are all aware of serious difficulties in our economic structure today. We could scarcely fail to notice, what with recent devaluations of the dollar, double-digit inflation, serious unemployment, recession and staggering Federal budget deficits.

Obviously, we have not yet achieved the ideal economic system. Even worse, we seem to have major disagreement about where we are and the direction in which we want to travel.
