Examining The Influence Of Awareness Tools On Library Electronic Resources: A Case Study Of The National Open University Of Nigeria (Noun), Babarotimi Oluwaseun, Babarotimi Opeyemi Oluwaseun Bo

This study examines the influence of awareness tools on library electronic resources: a case study of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) employing a quantitative research approach and survey methodology, the research targeted a sample population of 1,680, including 1,513 students, 140 academic staff members, and 27 academic librarians. A combination of probability (stratified random and systematic) and nonprobability (purposive) sampling methods were applied. The study employed online self-administered closed-ended questionnaires distributed through Google Forms to participants' emails. Data analysis was carried out using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).

This study investigated user perceptions and challenges associated with accessing and utilizing electronic resources at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), including their implications for remote users. Using a quantitative research approach and survey methodology, the study involved 1,680 participants: 1,513 students, 140 academic staff, and 27 academic librarians. Employing a combination of probability (stratified random and systematic) and nonprobability (purposive) sampling ensured comprehensive representation. Participants completed self-administered closed-ended questionnaires distributed through online platforms, primarily Google Forms. Collection acquisition is continuously becoming a rigorous activity as libraries are seeking more economical path to information resources to adequately meets the needs of their users. Libraries are supporting patrons needs through demand-driven acquisition that gives them liberty to participate in library collection acquisition decision. This study investigates Malaysian academic libraries adoption of Demand-driven acquisition (DDA) model considering the mediating effect of readiness. A quantitative research approach was employed using survey questionnaire with a total of 152 responses gathered. This study demonstrates that readiness has significantly influenced DDA adoption among Malaysian academic libraries, so is awareness and socio-economic factors.

The study was conducted to investigate the awareness and use of information resources for research by final year students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. Four research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. 100 copies of questionnaire were administered to the respondents in the college library through face to face method in order to collect data. Simple random and stratified sampling techniques were employed for the study due to the largeness of the population.
