Analyzes two of the short stories in Herman Melville's The Piazza Tales, "Bartleby the Scrivener: a Story of Wall Street" and "Benito Cereno" and argues that these stories are highly critical of the bourgeois class structure of American society that inform Wall Street, as well as the slave trade, in mid-Nineteenth-Century America. Posits that in these works Melville addresses the questions of hierarchical power in the workplace and the effects of racism and slavery in the colonization of America.

During this time of change, AHP and kindred spirits on the edge have important roles to play. We are the keepers and nurturers of a transformative and evolutionary Vision for Consciousness and a more humane world. At issue is what I will call the “psychic politics” for global transformation, nurtured by practical idealism and the Archetypal Energies. In other writings, I have described Archetypal Energies as Higher Vibrational Energies, operating deep within our individual and collective psyches, which have their own transcendent value, purpose, quality, and “voice”, unique to the individual. What Qualities Do Parents Value In Their Children ? : A Revision Of Earlier Findings, Caitlin Lantagne

Using General Social Survey data, examines the qualities that parents have valued in their children since 1986. Offers evidence that, in contrast to trends reported prior to this date, autonomy was no longer increasingly valued by parents during the period from 1986 to 2006 and that the trend away from valuing obedience had also slowed dramatically.
