Belmont University was chosen to host the final presidential debate of the 2020 election. Undeterred by even the COVID-19 pandemic, administration was determined to forge ahead with holding this historic event at Belmont. They formed a committee to document the event and archive its materials. As IR managers, we thanked our lucky stars for this huge opportunity and potential spotlight for our relatively unheralded IR. Teaching An Introduction To Archives Course To Undergraduates: A New Experience For The Archivist And The Students, Julia Stringfellow

This article explores a new Introduction to Archives class taught to undergraduates through a Library and Information Science Minor Program offered by the James E. Brooks Library at Central Washington University (CWU). The course is taught by the University Archivist. The challenges of recruiting students, promotion of the course, and teaching an upper level course to undergraduates from different disciplines is described, as well as the benefits of offering this type of course at the undergraduate level. A review of the literature on the benefits of educating undergraduates on archives and archival research is also included.

Institutional repositories (IRs) host an abundance of unique and valued digital content. The premise of garnering scholarly and local collection materials is to engage them for visibility and accessibility. As an additional tool to assist in the process of creating an infrastructure for reachable content, the WorldCat Digital Collection Gateway tool enables academic libraries to target individual repository collections to minimally harvest the metadata and be visible through WorldCat.org and OAIster. The Judge Robert E. Quinn Interviews on Mid-20th Century Rhode Island Politics

From the summer of 1972 to the fall of 1973, Matthew Smith, then Archivist of Providence College, conducted a number of recorded interviews with "Fighting Bob" Quinn (1884-1975), a prominent Rhode Island politician of the mid-twentieth century. Quinn, who after serving in all 3 branches of Rhode Island government, capped his twenty-five career in Rhode Island politics with tenure as Chief Judge of the United States Court of Military Appeals. The interview tapes, which were roughly transcribed, cover all phases of his public service in the political arena of Rhode Island.
