Analysis Of Artifacts From Maclellan Island Archaeological Survey, Beth Marie Fowler

The focus of this report is Maclellan Island, also known as Chattanooga Island. Maclellan Islandis located in the Tennessee River directly under the Veteran's Bridge from about river mile 464.3 to 464.9. In the summer of 1983 a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga archaeological field school surveyed part of the island to determine if any historically significant sites might be harmed by the construction of the Veteran's Bridge.
