Testing of Site 41BU49 on FM 696 in Burleson County, Texas, was under-taken in March 1987 to determine eligibility for inclusion within the National Register of Historic Places and to make a recommendation for nomination as a State Archeological Landmark. Testing also was under-taken to determine site depth, cultural context, and archaeological significance. The site is located along a hill slope overlooking Buffalo Creek and consists of a shallow, low-density cultural deposit which may have been impacted by agricultural activities in the past.
