Economic evidence reveals that preserved open space fosters services that are valued by members of society. However, when making the municipal decision to preserve land, communities must decide what type of open space to preserve, and must also deal with entities purchasing land and affecting tax revenues. The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has made efforts in recent years to expand the National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) system. This is an anthropological study of farmworkers living in reclaimed desert land in Egypt. Since the start in the early-1950s, desert land reclamation has been a governmental enterprise to increase cultivable land in order to keep pace with the rapid population growth. From the mid-1970s, reclaimed desert areas started to be distributed to various groups of people. "Peasants, "university graduates", "public company employees", and recently "evicted tenants" received small plots of land from the government, and became small-scale farmers. The guinea pig (Cavia aperea porcellus) is an alternative to improve human nutrition because its meat is of excellent taste and quality. Thus, it is an important nutritional source. The feed conversion index was determined under the basic (forage) and mixed (forage and concentrate) diets during the growth phase. This was done with both sexes located in the Tamborada and MEJOCUY populations, using the AUQUI, and San Luis lines.
