Synthesis Of Namnpo4 By Spraying Drying-High Temperature Sintering And Its Electrochemical Performance, Xiao-Chen Lin, Xiao-Biao Wu, Xu Hou, Yong Yang

Journal of Electrochemistry

As a cathode material for sodium ion batteries, NaMnPO4/C nanocomposite is successfully synthesized by the combination of spraying drying and high temperature sintering methods. The crystal structure of the as-synthesized phosphate material is confirmed as the natrophilite NaMnPO4, which possesses orthorhombic symmetry and Pmnb space group. It is shown that the precursors are hollow spherical particles and the obtained product consists of micro-scaled secondary particles, which are composed of NaMnPO4 nanocrystallites (tens of nanometres) and amorphous carbon networks. The ionic and electronic conductivities of NaMnPO4 are both effectively enhanced with the help of this …

The Na2MnPO4F is one of the promising cathode materials for the sodium ion batteries. In the paper, we employed the ex situ X-ray diffraction and solid state NMR techniques to study the charge and discharge processes of this material, including the crystal structure and sodium sites changes. The ex situ x-ray diffraction patterns showed that two new diffraction peaks could be observed at 31o and 36o indicating an intermediate phase formed with the extraction of Na+. From the 23Na MAS NMR spectrum of the material, three peaks were seen at -209 ppm,-258 ppm …

The Al-doped and Mg-doped LiCoMnO4 materials were synthesized through solid-state reaction. The effects of doping amounts of Mg and Al on the initial capacities, discharge plateaus, and cycle performances were investigated. The morphologies and structures of the as-prepared materials were studied by scanning electron microscopy and powder X-ray diffraction. The results indicate that the as-prepared samples were composed of uniform, well-crystallized particles. The pristine LiCoMnO4 possessed an initial capacity of 87.0 mAh·g-1, while LiCo0.98Mg0.02MnO4 and LiCo0.98Al0.02MnO4 delivered 91.3 and 93.6 mAh·g-1, respectively. The proper …
