Broiler Litter For Topdressing Tall Fescue, Monroe Rasnake, David Watson
Soil Science News and Views
A test was started in Princeton in 1991 to observe the response of tall fescue to applications of nitrogen fertilizer and broiler litter. Five treatments were used: two and four tons of litter per acre, 100 lbs nitrogen (half in May and half in July), 100 lbs nitrogen plus soil test recommended rates of phosphate and potash (only 55 lbs of Phosphate applied in 1991) and a check which had no nutrients applied. The treatments began in May 1991 on an established stand of tall fescue on a fragipan soil at the U.K. Research and Education Center in Princeton.

The Bay Study Group was created by the City of Tampa in 1976 to monitor the effects of pollution abatement that occurred in Hillsborough Bay when the city’s wastewater treatment plant was upgraded from primary to advanced treatment in 1979. The Bay Study Group documented a remarkable restoration of water quality parameters and biological indicators in Hillsborough Bay from the mid 1980s until 2009, when it was disbanded. This zip Geodatabase file contains the photo point locations, aerial photos, and flight maps for the year 1993.

Seasonal And Annual Variation In Weight And Biochemical Content Of The Zebra Mussel, Dreissena Polymorpha, In Lake St. Clair, Thomas F. Nalepa, Joann F. Cavaletto, Mark Ford, Wendy M. Gordon, Marijo Wimmer
United States Department of Commerce: Staff Publications
Zebra mussels, Dreissena polymorpha, were collected monthly from April/May to November in 1990 and 1991 from two sites in Lake St. Clair. The sites were characterized by relatively high and low mussel densities. The following variables were measured: ash-free dry weight (AFDW) per unit shell length (SL), lipid content and classes, carbon content, and nitrogen content. Mussels from the high-density site had a lower AFDW:SL relationship, lower lipid content, and a lower C:N ratio than mussels from the low-density site. Seasonal trends in these variables were consistent between sites and years. AFDW:SL, lipid, and carbon content were highest in …
