The tracking of the vitals of patients with long term health problems is essential for clinicians to determine proper care. Using Patient Generated Health Data (PGHD) communicated remotely allows patients to be monitored without requiring frequent hospital visits. Issues might arise when the communication of data digitally is difficult or impossible due to a lack of access to internet or a low level of digital literacy as is the case in many African countries.
