Removal Of Pb2+ And Cd2+ From Aqueous Solutions Using Pocl3 Cross-Linked Carboxymethyl Derivatives Of Legume Starch, Ayodele Akinterinwa, Ebun Oladele, Albert Adebayo, Olubode Ajayi Sep 2020

Removal Of Pb2+ And Cd2+ From Aqueous Solutions Using Pocl3 Cross-Linked Carboxymethyl Derivatives Of Legume Starch, Ayodele Akinterinwa, Ebun Oladele, Albert Adebayo, Olubode Ajayi

Makara Journal of Science

Starch was extracted from Kwakil beans and cross-linked with POCl3 (1% v/w of starch dry basis [db]). The cross-linked starch (PCS) derivative was carboxymethylated with sodium monochloroacetate (5% to 30% w/w of starch db) to obtain cross-linked carboxymethyl starch (PCCS) derivatives. The derivatives were used in the adsorption of Pb2+ and Cd2+, and the process was monitored using atomic adsorption spectrometer. Carboxymethylation enhanced adsorption of ions (Cd2+, 95% to 96%; Pb, 65% to 94%), and it was more appreciable with Pb2+ than Cd2+ as degree of substitution increased from 0.008 to 0.052. …

Kinetics Of Radiation-Stimulated Processes On The Surface Of Oxide Materials, T. Tusseyev Mar 2020

Kinetics Of Radiation-Stimulated Processes On The Surface Of Oxide Materials, T. Tusseyev

Eurasian Journal of Physics and Functional Materials

The analysis of the experimental data shows that the processes of gas adsorption and radiation defects accumulation in metal oxides correlate with each other and most likely can be described in terms of equivalent kinetic equations. Given this circumstance, the kinetics of accumulation of radiation defects in oxides of di erent metals was analyzed. The obtained equations were used to analyze: a) the kinetics of accumulation of radiation defects in di erent oxide compounds; b) the data on the destruction of radiationinduced defects in the atmosphere of di erent gases, and on the kinetics of absorption by oxides of oxygen, …

A Problem Of Solute Transport In A Cylindrical Porous Media With A Fractal Structure Taking Into Account Adsorption Phenomena, B. X. Xujayorov, J. M. Maxmudov, A. I. Usmanov, B. O. Saidov Jan 2020

A Problem Of Solute Transport In A Cylindrical Porous Media With A Fractal Structure Taking Into Account Adsorption Phenomena, B. X. Xujayorov, J. M. Maxmudov, A. I. Usmanov, B. O. Saidov

Scientific Journal of Samarkand University

The process of anomalous solute transport in a coaxial cylindrical porous media is modelled by differential equations with a fractional derivative. The problem of solute transport in a two-zone cylindrical media consisting of macro- and micropores taking into account adsorption effectshas been numericallyposed and solved. The concentration profiles of suspended particles and the adsorbed solute in the macropore and micropore, the surface of the local concentration in the micropore are determined. The influence of adsorption phenomena and the order of the derivative with respect to the coordinate, i.e. fractal dimension of the media, on the characteristics of the solute transport …

Allylphenoxypiperidinium Halides As Corrosion Inhibitors Of Carbon Steel And Biocides, Gunay Mehdiyeva Muzakir, Musa Bairamov Rza, Shahnaz Hosseinzadeh Bahador, Gulnara Hasanova Musa Jan 2020

Allylphenoxypiperidinium Halides As Corrosion Inhibitors Of Carbon Steel And Biocides, Gunay Mehdiyeva Muzakir, Musa Bairamov Rza, Shahnaz Hosseinzadeh Bahador, Gulnara Hasanova Musa

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A series of 1-(4-(2-allylphenoxy)butyl)piperidin-1-ium halides (4a-d) was synthesized and characterized via spectroscopic methods (FTIR, $^{1}$H NMR). The corrosion inhibition of the synthesized halides on carbon steel in water-salt-hydrocarbon environment, saturated with H$_{2}$S, was investigated. For this purpose, a series of techniques such as gravimetric measurement, potentiodynamic polarisation, and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used and some thermodynamic parameters of corrosion process ($\Delta G_{ads.}$, $\Delta H^{0}_{ads.}$, $\Delta S^{0}_{ads.})$ were evaluated. The steel surface was checked by SEM, and the steel surface showed good surface coverage. The results showed that the synthesized compounds at the concentrations 125, 150 mg x L$^{-1}$ have …

A Review: A Comparison Of Different Adsorbents For Removal Of Cr (Vi), Cd (Ii) And Ni (Ii), Anja Pfeifer, Mojca Skerget

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A review of the studies dealing with the removal of chromium, cadmium, and nickel ions with different adsorbents published in the literature between 2014 and 2018 is given in tabular form, along with the adsorption conditions, adsorption isotherm, and kinetic models applied by the authors to model the experimental data and adsorption capacities. The review focuses on the efficiency of ion removal.
