Gsu Indoor Navigation Application, Michael W. Tucker Oct 2013

Gsu Indoor Navigation Application, Michael W. Tucker

All Capstone Projects

I am attempting to build an indoor navigation application. The GSU application app would primarily be used by incoming students that tend to have a hard time finding their way around the campus or specific buildings.

The application would then pinpoint the students' location using their devices, launch a 3D render of the building, followed by guiding them to the assigned classroom using a built in navigation system.

Small Business Template, Michael Totleben Oct 2013

Small Business Template, Michael Totleben

All Capstone Projects

This document contains instructions on how to create a template for a small business website using a content management system called Orchard, ecommerce software called Magelia, all running on a Windows Azure cloud instance (or locally/other). Since Orchard is not commonly used, documentation for its setup, which is a custom configuration, is put in a step-by- step manner. Many times the standard is first show how to perform the task first view example then just give the technically spec for further operations of the same type. The documentation for Magelia, however, is already fabricated extensively and will be linked to …

Filestream Enhancement To The Courseweb Grading System, Derrick Massey Jul 2013

Filestream Enhancement To The Courseweb Grading System, Derrick Massey

All Capstone Projects

Data is sometimes unstructured, such as text documents, images, and videos. This unstructured data is regularly stored outside the database, different from its structured data. This separation can cause data management problems. Or, if the data is connected with regulated storage, the performance and the file streaming capabilities and can degrade.

FILESTREAM incorporates the SQL Server Database Engine with an NTFS file system by loading varbinary(max) BLOB data as files. And make them available to the file system. Transact-SQL statements can update, query, search, insert, and or back up FILESTREAM data. The Win32 file system interface affords streaming access to …

File Transfer Web Application, Madhavi Dintakurthy Apr 2013

File Transfer Web Application, Madhavi Dintakurthy

All Capstone Projects

Aim is to develop a web application using java web framework.

Description: Develop a web application in 3 tier architecture involving user interface, controller and database. The user interface will be a web page hosted on a server. The web page consists of both static and dynamic content. All the data required for the application is stored in database tables. Controller accesses the data from the database and provides it to the user through user interface (web page).

  • Web page: The webpage serves as user interface to the application. Web page is developed using Jsp, HTML, Java Script …

Uhplc In The Analysis Of Drug Components, Rana Chandra Sekhar Reddy Pulagam Apr 2013

Uhplc In The Analysis Of Drug Components, Rana Chandra Sekhar Reddy Pulagam

All Capstone Projects

The main objective of this article is to highlight the new trends that have emerged in the enhancement of the HPLC which have given rise to the use of UHPLC. This innovative tool is much more reliable and effective as compared to HPLC, in the investigation of many chemical compounds. In this article, special insight is given on the changes that have been made with regards to both instruments. In this article focus is also placed on the implementation of UPLC in various fields of interest, in order to enhance the processes for which it is utilized. The pros and …

Development Of Method For Detection Of Lead In Samples Collected From Keweenaw Peninsula Mines, Michigan In Collaboration With Environmental Biology Research Students, Sindhu Reddy Aaireddy Apr 2013

Development Of Method For Detection Of Lead In Samples Collected From Keweenaw Peninsula Mines, Michigan In Collaboration With Environmental Biology Research Students, Sindhu Reddy Aaireddy

All Capstone Projects

Mining is one of the most important industries and a main cause of global pollution due to release of heavy metals into air, water, and soil. Some of these elements are persistent in the environment for years and bioaccumulation in living organisms causing toxic effects. Such elements are known as PBTs (persistent, bioaccumulate and toxic). The nature of toxicity depends on the properties, size of population exposed to it and period of exposure. For this reason, we are interested in developing a method to detect heavy metals in soil samples, mine tailings, plant and animal samples collected from surroundings of …

Study And Identification Of Environmental Nanoparticles In Governors State University (Gsu's) Agricultural Fields, Ekta Desai Apr 2013

Study And Identification Of Environmental Nanoparticles In Governors State University (Gsu's) Agricultural Fields, Ekta Desai

All Capstone Projects

Main purpose of this project is to study nanoparticles in Governors State University’s agricultural field and design experimental protocol for the same. Nanoparticles have one dimension that measures between 1 - 100 nanometers or less. Nanoparticles are widely used in day to day life such as in medicines, textiles, manufacturing and cosmetics. Due to their wide use, they can enter environment through many ways such as accidental spills during handling. Waste water treatment plant disposal serves as a main source of their entrance into the environment. Analysis of nanoparticles in environmental samples presents a number of challenges, including separation and …

Folic Acid And Its Receptors, Jacqueline Spreadbury Apr 2013

Folic Acid And Its Receptors, Jacqueline Spreadbury

All Capstone Projects

Folic acid, also known as folate or vitamin B9, is essential for various functions in the human body and life as we know it. Folate is the compound that occurs naturally in food, and folic acid is the synthetic form of this vitamin. Chemically speaking, folic acid has the hydrogen (H+) attached to the compound whereas folate is the conjugate, having lost the hydrogen (H+). Structure, Functions of Folate, Folic Acid in Bacteria, Folate Receptors, and Folic Acid Receptor in Macrophages are discussed in this literature review project. (abstract by OPUS staff)

Brass Ring Carousel Control System, Daniel Karwatka Apr 2013

Brass Ring Carousel Control System, Daniel Karwatka

All Capstone Projects

In this age of e-commerce, use of automated industrial machines in warehousing is necessary for lowering labor costs and increasing productivity. In many cases the high cost of implementation and slow return on investment impede the installation of these systems. Furthermore, the ongoing maintenance costs of these system may also be a dissuading factor. BrassRing is an attempt to lower the software implementation and maintenance costs for industrial horizontal carousels. By utilizing open and free platforms along with inexpensive computer equipment a business may lower its installation and customization costs significantly while also reducing future maintenance and upgrade fees. (Abstract …

Synthesis Of A Folate Conjugated Fluorescent Imaging Dye, Daniel Bonner Apr 2013

Synthesis Of A Folate Conjugated Fluorescent Imaging Dye, Daniel Bonner

All Capstone Projects

In recent years methods of selective targeting of pathologic cells have become increasingly important for both detection and treatment of various cancers. The use of folic acid as a selective therapeutic and targeting agent for cancer cells is becoming ever more significant. This is due to the well characterized up regulation of folate receptors for cancer cells.

In this experiment we focus on the development of a new folate conjugate dye by using a small fluorescent molecule known as Oregon Green 514 for fluorescent imaging of cancer cells. To obtain this objective we I inked folate with Oregon green 514 …
