Penrose Conference Report: Kinematics And Geodynamics Of Intraplate Dextral Shear In Eastern California And Western Nevada, Jeffrey Lee, Daniel Stockli, Christopher Henry, Timothy Dixon
Penrose Conference Report: Kinematics And Geodynamics Of Intraplate Dextral Shear In Eastern California And Western Nevada, Jeffrey Lee, Daniel Stockli, Christopher Henry, Timothy Dixon
Geological Sciences Faculty Scholarship
This conference provided a forum to discuss the range of geological and geophysical datasets from the eastern California shear zone (ECSZ) and Walker Lane belt (WLB) that bear on how intraplate deformation is accommodated and how to integrate the data into a comprehensive, spatially and kinematically coherent view of intraplate deformation through time.
Grass Patch-Salmon Gums Area : Catchment Appraisal 2005, Angela Alderman
Grass Patch-Salmon Gums Area : Catchment Appraisal 2005, Angela Alderman
Resource management technical reports
Rapid catchment appraisal to assess the condition of, and future risks to, agricultural and natural resources within the Grass Patch-Salmon Gums area in Western Australia.
"Got Rocks?" An Inquiry-Based Geology Program For 3rd To 5th Grades In Conjunction With The Museum Of Science, Jennifer D. Todd
"Got Rocks?" An Inquiry-Based Geology Program For 3rd To 5th Grades In Conjunction With The Museum Of Science, Jennifer D. Todd
Critical and Creative Thinking Capstones Collection
How can the Boston Museum of Science be of help to classroom teachers when planning a field trip? The synthesis presents a set of lesson plans for 3rd to 5th grade science teachers in the Boston area, with an ultimate goal of promoting students’ critical and creative thinking in their classroom units on rocks and minerals. The program was designed especially for those in the New England area because these states are within proximity to take a field trip to the Boston Museum of Science. The institution has many rocks and mineral samples from around the world and in the …
Groundwater Study Of The Boddington Townsite, Gregory Paul Raper
Groundwater Study Of The Boddington Townsite, Gregory Paul Raper
Resource management technical reports
A study of the groundwater beneath the Boddington townsite was carried out in April 2002. The aim was to assess the salinity risk to the townsite infrastructure and to accelerate the implementation of effective salinity management for the town. The study consisted of field reconnaissance, a drilling program, expansion of a groundwater-monitoring network installed in March 2001, and groundwater monitoring.
Greenough Region Catchment Appraisal, Angela Stuart-Street, M Clarke
Greenough Region Catchment Appraisal, Angela Stuart-Street, M Clarke
Resource management technical reports
This report discusses a range of options for the Greenough region, which is comprised of eight shires including the Shires of Northampton, Chapman Valley, Mullewa, Greenough, Morawa, Irwin, Mingenew and Three Springs, and also the city of Geraldton. A range of options for reducing land degradation is discussed. Factors such as soil type, annual rainfall, enterprise mix and financial structure are also considered.
Wagin-Woodanilling (Zone 5) : Catchment Appraisal 2005, K Ohlsen, T Schulz, T W. Mathwin, Gina Pemberton, Henry Brockman, J Firth, Mitchell Davies, Heather M. Percy
Wagin-Woodanilling (Zone 5) : Catchment Appraisal 2005, K Ohlsen, T Schulz, T W. Mathwin, Gina Pemberton, Henry Brockman, J Firth, Mitchell Davies, Heather M. Percy
Resource management technical reports
The aim of this report is to assess the current extent of salinity and other natural resource degradation issues and provide landholders with the best current management options to address natural resource management issues and enhance sustainable agricultural production.
Oceanic Uptake And The Global Atmospheric Acetone Budget, Christa Marandino, Warren J. De Bruyn, Scott Miller, M. J. Prather, Eric S. Saltzman
Oceanic Uptake And The Global Atmospheric Acetone Budget, Christa Marandino, Warren J. De Bruyn, Scott Miller, M. J. Prather, Eric S. Saltzman
Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Sciences Faculty Articles and Research
In this study, direct measurements of the air/ sea flux of acetone were made over the North Pacific Ocean. The results demonstrate that the net flux of acetone is into, rather than out of the oceans. The extrapolated global ocean uptake of 48 Tg yr(-1) requires a major revision of the atmospheric acetone budget. This result is consistent with a recent reevaluation of acetone photodissociation quantum yields.
An Inventory Of Rangelands In Part Of The Broome Shire, Western Australia, W E. Cotching
An Inventory Of Rangelands In Part Of The Broome Shire, Western Australia, W E. Cotching
Technical Bulletins
The inventory of rangelands in part of the Broome Shire in Western Australia was undertaken by DAFWA between 1989 and 1990. It describes and maps the natural resources of the region’s pastoral leasehold land. This survey report provides a baseline record of the existence and condition of the natural area’s resources, to assist with the planning and implementation of land management practices. The report identified and described the condition of soils, landforms, vegetation, habitat, ecosystems, and declared plants and animals. It also assessed the impact of pastoralism and made land management recommendations. The survey of part of the Broome Shire …
