Many of the world’s fisheries are threatened by over-exploitation or fish kills from run-off of industrial, agricultural and urban pollutants. The latter tends to be localised; however, over 50 years ago the explorer Thor Heyendall discovered the unexpected in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean in his ’Kon Tild’ expedition -- large globules of congealed pollutants.
