Nano-manganese oxide loaded on titanium electrocatalytic membrane electrodes (nano-MnOx/Ti) were synthesized bysol-gel method using porous Ti membrane as a substrate and the manganese acetate as a raw material without releasing NOx. X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) were employed to characterize crystal form, valence state and surface morphology of nano-MnOx, respectively. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and chronoamperometry (CA) were used to investigate the electrochemical properties of nano-MnOx electrode. Preparation And Properties Of Manganese Oxide And Polyaniline-Carbon Composite Electrode, Tian-Tian Zhou, Bing Wu, Chao Deng, Ying Gao

The polyaniline-carbon (PAnC) electrode was prepared by the polymerization of aniline monomer and activated carbon in ice water bath, and followed by chemical deposition of manganese dioxide MnO2-PAnC composite material. The specific capacitance of MnO2-PAnC reached 459 F•g-1. The cyclic voltammetric results showed a small deformation in the voltammogram curve obtained with the MnO2-PAnC electrode at high scan rate, indicating good reversibility and capacitive properties. With the ever-advancing technology, there is an incessant need for reliable electrochemical energy storage (EES) components that can provide desired energy and power. At the forefront of EES systems are electrochemical capacitors (ECs), also known as supercapacitors that typically have higher power and superior cycle longevity but lower energy densities than their battery counterparts. One of the routes to achieve higher energy density for ECs is using the hybrid EC configuration, which typically utilizes a redox electrode coupled with a counter double-layer type electrode.
