Numerous missions planned for the next decade are likely to target a handful of small sites of interest on the Moon's surface, creating risks of crowding and interference at these locations. The Moon presents finite and scarce areas with rare topography or concentrations of resources of special value. Locations of interest to science, notably for astronomy, include the Peaks of Eternal Light, the coldest of the cold traps and smooth areas on the far side. Regions richest in physical resources could also be uniquely suited to settlement and commerce. Such sites of interest are both few and small. Typically, there …

Geoscience Faculty Research
Recent exploration has identified a series of Cu-Mo skarn deposits within the Xuancheng-Magushan orefield. The orefield forms part of the Nanling-Xuancheng mining district, which is located within the Middle-Lower Yangtze River Metallogenic Belt (MLYRMB) of central-eastern China. However, this area contains thick and widespread unprospective sedimentary cover sequences that have impeded traditional approaches to mineral exploration. This study presents the results of 3D numerical simulation modeling that identifies possible mineral exploration targets within the entire Xuancheng-Magushan orefield. This modeling enables the identification of unexplored areas with significant exploration potential that are covered by thick sedimentary sequences that cannot be easily …

Hydrocarbons And Mineral Resources Of The Uinta Basin, Utah And Colorado, United States Department Of The Interior, Indian Affairs Bureau
Hydrocarbons And Mineral Resources Of The Uinta Basin, Utah And Colorado, United States Department Of The Interior, Indian Affairs Bureau
Mines and Mineral Resources
The Uinta Basin holds special fascination for economic geologists because of its rich and diverse assemblage of mineral and hydrocarbon resources. Due to their presence in rocks of the basin, much effort has been put into assessing and exploiting uranium, phosphate, gold, copper, coal, and evaporite minerals. However, the basin is probably best noted for its extensive and very rich accumulations of hydrocarbons such as, oil, gas, bituminous sandstones, oil shale (shale oil), and gilsonite and other solid and semi-solid hydrocarbon species. More importantly, several of these commodities have proven to be a major source of wealth and resources for …

All U.S. Government Documents (Utah Regional Depository)
During 1979 and 1980 the U.S. Geological Survey and the Bureau of Mines conducted field investigations to evaluate the mineral resources potential of the Escalante Canyon Instant Study Area, Garfield County, Utah. Field studies included geological mapping and reconnaissance (Weir and Beard, 1981), geochemical sampling, and a survey of known mines, prospects, and mineralized areas (Lane, 1981).

Water Resources Data For Nebraska Water Year 1976
Conservation and Survey Division
Water resources data for the 1976 water year for Nebraska consist of records of stage, discharge, and water quality of streams; stage and contents of lakes and reservoirs; and water levels and water quality in wells and springs. This report contains discharge records for 146 gaging stations; stage and contents for 9 lakes and reservoirs; water quality for 40 gaging stations, 18 ungaged stations, 27 partial-record flow stations, and 96 wells; and water levels for 66 observation wells. Also included are 114 crest-stage partial-record stations and 12 low-flow partialrecord stations. Additional water data were collected at various sites, not part …
