This Environmental Assessment (EA) documents results of an analysis of proposed changes to the current management of wildland fire and hazardous fuels for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Southern Utah Support Area (SUSA) planning area. Proposed revisions of the SUSA Fire Management Plan (FMP) serve as the Proposed Action for this EA. The revised FMP incorporates current planning requirements associated with fire management on public lands, including wildland fire suppression and fuel treatments. The purpose of Grant # DE-FG03 98ER62674, Project # 55800112 was to continue a previously funded effort and make a statistical comparison of the respective toxicities of 226Ra vs. 239Pu in dogs. Special emphasis was on the induction of bone tumors that result from the alpha-radiation emitted from either radionuclide. With the support provided, we have completed the statistical analysis of 226Ra and have established a sound basis for the analysis of the corresponding 239Pu data and for the comparison of these 2 nuclides. This Flood Insurance Study investigates the existence and severity of flood hazards in the City of Ogden, Weber County, Utah, and aids in the administration of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 and the Flood Disaster Protection Act of 1973. This study will be used to convert Ogden to the regular program of flood insurance by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Local regional planners will use this study in their efforts to promote sound flood plain management.
