Effect Of Temperature On The Performance Of Pdc Cutters With Different Shape, Zhang Suhu, Wang Chuanliu, Dai Yongbo Feb 2020

Effect Of Temperature On The Performance Of Pdc Cutters With Different Shape, Zhang Suhu, Wang Chuanliu, Dai Yongbo

Coal Geology & Exploration

In order to explore the performance of PDC cutters at different temperatures to adapt to different brazing temperatures, and to reasonably select the shape to improve efficiency. Based on the several main parameters affecting the quality of polycrystalline diamond compacts (PDC), such as wear resistance, grinding time, stationarity and impact toughness, the performance of PDC sheets from different manufacturers and different shapes was tested. The performance of PDC before or after heating and at different temperatures was obtained. At the same time, the performance of flat sheets, micro-arcs sheets and arcs sheets was compared. The results show that with the …

A New Smart Networking Architecture For Container Network Functions, Gülsüm Atici, Pinar Bölük Jan 2020

A New Smart Networking Architecture For Container Network Functions, Gülsüm Atici, Pinar Bölük

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

5G slices have challenging application demands from a wide variety of fields including high bandwidth, low latency and reliability. The requirements of the container network functions which are used in telecommunications are different from any other cloud native IT applications as they are used for data plane packet processing functions, together with control, signalling and media processing which have critical processing requirements. This study aims to discover high performing container networking solution by considering traffic loads and application types. The behaviour of several container cluster networking solutions -- Flannel, Weave, Libnetwork, Open Virtual Networking for Open vSwitch and Calico -- …

Simulation Of Blade Tip Grooving Effect On Performance Of Twin-Stage Variable-Pitch Axial Fan, Xuemin Ye, Jiankun Zhang, Chunxi Li Jan 2019

Simulation Of Blade Tip Grooving Effect On Performance Of Twin-Stage Variable-Pitch Axial Fan, Xuemin Ye, Jiankun Zhang, Chunxi Li

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: For a twin-stage variable-pitch axial fan, a novel blade tip treatment carving a chute from the pressure side to suction side is proposed, and fan performance under different blade tip treatments is simulated to determine the excellent treatment. The effects of blade tip grooving in a single stage or both stages on fan performance and internal dynamics are examined. Numerical results show that both blade tip treatments can improve the fan performance; the overall promotion of fan performance illustrates that the best scheme is the blade tip grooving in the first stage followed by the blade tip grooving …

Speech Interfaces And Pilot Performance: A Meta-Analysis, Kenneth A. Ward Jan 2019

Speech Interfaces And Pilot Performance: A Meta-Analysis, Kenneth A. Ward

International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace

As the aviation industry modernizes, new technology and interfaces must support growing aircraft complexity without increasing pilot workload. Natural language processing presents just such a simple and intuitive interface, yet the performance implications for use by pilots remain unknown. A meta-analysis was conducted to understand performance effects of using speech and voice interfaces in a series of pilot task analogs. The inclusion criteria selected studies that involved participants performing a demanding primary task, such as driving, while interacting with a vehicle system to enter numbers, dial radios, or enter a navigation destination. Compared to manual system interfaces, voice interfaces reduced …

Effects Of Rotating Magnetic Fields On Pem Fuel Cell Performance, Mao-Liang Wu, En-Ze Wang, Guang-De Pan, Zhong-Jun Liu, Fei Xie Apr 2018

Effects Of Rotating Magnetic Fields On Pem Fuel Cell Performance, Mao-Liang Wu, En-Ze Wang, Guang-De Pan, Zhong-Jun Liu, Fei Xie

Journal of Electrochemistry

Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell performance may be improved by application of additional magnetic fields. In this work, one square permanent magnet, made of either 16 combination cylinder magnets with homopolarity or 16 combination cylinder magnets with heteropolarity, was exerted on the fuel cell surface to produce additional magnetic field affecting PEM fuel cell performance. The influences of magnetic field status (rotating, static and none) on polarization and power density curves measured in a PEM fuel cell were investigated. The results verified the benefit of magnetic field, proving that the magnetic field distribution could improve the fuel cell output. …

A Location Aware History-Based Approach For Network Selection In Heterogeneous Wireless Networks, Amir Hossein Jafari, Hadi Shahriar Shahhoseini Jan 2016

A Location Aware History-Based Approach For Network Selection In Heterogeneous Wireless Networks, Amir Hossein Jafari, Hadi Shahriar Shahhoseini

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Efficient decision making in vertical handoff and network selection algorithms improves users' quality of service and helps users meet service requirements, anywhere and at any time. Hence, in this paper, a user-centric network selection algorithm is proposed, utilizing the estimated reputation of the available candidate networks based on user location and combined experienced users' utility. User utility is defined based on 1) quality of service, 2) monetary cost, and 3) energy consumption metrics. In the proposed history aware-based user location algorithm, the past experience of users for available networks is considered to estimate the future utility that a user can …

Star-Crossed Cube: An Alternative To Star Graph, Nibedita Adhikari, Chitta Ranjan Tripathy Jan 2014

Star-Crossed Cube: An Alternative To Star Graph, Nibedita Adhikari, Chitta Ranjan Tripathy

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

This paper introduces a new interconnection network topology called the star-crossed cube (SCQ). The SCQ is observed to be superior to other contemporary networks in terms of various topological parameters such as diameter, cost, average distance, and message traffic density. The various performance metrics of the proposed network, including cost effectiveness and time-cost effectiveness, are found to be better. The optimal routing and broadcasting algorithms for the new network are also presented. Embedding properties for the proposed network are also studied.

Manufacture Of 1 Kw Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Stack, Sheng Sui, Xin-Jian Zhu, Zheng-Yu Fan, Cao Guang-Yi And

Journal of Electrochemistry

A molten carbonate fuel cell stack with an active area of 240 mm×140 mm consisted of 30 cells. The gas feed system works via interior manifolds, and the stack placed in a couple of self-chest,coupled with a heater at the bottom and other fours surrounded,to keep uniformity of temperature.Under ambient pressure and 650 ℃,fed with hydrogen and air as anode and cathode gases respectively, the stack gave a current density of 150 mA/cm 2 at an average cell voltage of 0.7 V.The peak output of the stack was 1.06 kW during its performance of 300 h.
