Suas: Cybersecurity Threats, Vulnerabilities, And Exploits, Philip Craiger, Gary Kessler, William Rose

National Training Aircraft Symposium (NTAS)

The FAA predicts that purchases of hobbyist small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) will grow from 1.9 million in 2016 to 4.3 million by 2020, and commercial sUAS to increase from 600,000 in 2016 to 2.7 million by 2020. sUAS, often referred to as 'drones,' are comprised of aeronautical hardware, a CPU, RAM, onboard storage, radio frequency communications, sensors, a camera, and a controller used by the pilot-in-command (PIC). Some have argued that a sUAS is essentially a flying computer. As such, sUAS are sometimes susceptible to many of the types of attacks that are often used on PC-based computers attached …

Implications Of Eu-Gdpr In Low-Grade Social, Activist And Ngo Settings, Lars Magnusson, Sarfraz Iqbal Oct 2017

Implications Of Eu-Gdpr In Low-Grade Social, Activist And Ngo Settings, Lars Magnusson, Sarfraz Iqbal

UBT International Conference

Social support services are becoming popular among the citizens of every country and every age. Though, social support services easily accessible on mobile phones are used in different contexts, ranging from extending your presence and connectivity to friends, family and colleagues to using social media services for being a social activist seeking to help individuals confined in miserable situations such as homeless community, drug addicts or even revolutionists fighting against dictatorships etc. However, a very recent development in the European Parliament’s law (2016/679) on the processing and free movement of personal data in terms of EU-GDPR (General data protection rules) …

An Approach To Information Security For Smes Based On The Resource-Based View Theory, Blerton Abazi Oct 2017

An Approach To Information Security For Smes Based On The Resource-Based View Theory, Blerton Abazi

UBT International Conference

The main focus of this proposal is to analyze implementation challenges, benefits and requirements in implementation of Information Systems and managing information security in small and medium size companies in Western Balkans countries. In relation to the study, the proposal will focus in the following questions to investigate: What are the benefits that companies mostly find after the implementation of Information Systems has been implemented, efficiency, how to they manage security of the information’s, competitive advantage, return of investments etc. The study should give a clear approach to Information Systems implementation, information security, maintenance, measurable benefits, challenges companies have gone …

Security Analysis Of Wireless Ban In E-Health, Romina Muka, Sule Yildrim-Yayilgan, Kozeta Sevrani Oct 2016

Security Analysis Of Wireless Ban In E-Health, Romina Muka, Sule Yildrim-Yayilgan, Kozeta Sevrani

UBT International Conference

The Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) has gained popularity as a new technology for e-Health, and is considered as one of the key research areas in computer science and healthcare applications. WBAN collects patients’ data, monitors constantly their physiological parameters, using small implantable or wearable sensors, and communicates these data using wireless communication techniques in short range. WBAN is playing a huge role in improving the quality of healthcare. Still, due to sensitive and concurrent nature of e-Heath systems, current research has showed that designers must take into considerations the security and privacy protection of the data collected by a …

Security Concerns Of New Alternative Telecommunication Services, Arbnora Hyseni, Krenare Pireva, Miranda Kajtazi Nov 2015

Security Concerns Of New Alternative Telecommunication Services, Arbnora Hyseni, Krenare Pireva, Miranda Kajtazi

UBT International Conference

With the advancing new era of communication, the so-called era of ‘being always online’ many providers offer their services for free. In that sense a small company or a virtual company becomes a huge competitor for different traditional telecommunication providers. Using the same services such as: voice calls, video calls, chat and similar services, the internet technology has made huge changes how users make use of such services . Instead of using these services, users shall install applications that are specialized for offering these services via applications, such as: Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Talk etc.. During the installation and update …

Networks - Ii: Overhead Analysis Of Security Implementation Using Ipsec, Muhammad Awais Azam, Zaka -Ul- Mustafa, Usman Tahir, S. M. Ahsan, Muhammad Adnan Naseem, Imran Rashid, Muhammad Adeel Aug 2009

Networks - Ii: Overhead Analysis Of Security Implementation Using Ipsec, Muhammad Awais Azam, Zaka -Ul- Mustafa, Usman Tahir, S. M. Ahsan, Muhammad Adnan Naseem, Imran Rashid, Muhammad Adeel

International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies

Authentication, access control, encryption and auditing make up the essential elements of network security. Researchers have dedicated a large amount of efforts to implement security features that fully incorporate the use of all these elements. Currently, data networks mainly provide authentication and confidentiality services. Confidentiality alone is not able to protect the system, thus, suitable security measures must be taken. However, this security is itself an overhead which must be accounted for. A trade-off must exist between performance and security. This trade-off must be carefully managed so as not to deteriorate the systems being secured. This calls for the true …

Secured Network Model For Management Information System Based On Ip Security (Ipsec) Encryption Using Multilayered Approach Of Network Security, Dr. Amir Hassan Pathan, Muniza Irshad Aug 2005

Secured Network Model For Management Information System Based On Ip Security (Ipsec) Encryption Using Multilayered Approach Of Network Security, Dr. Amir Hassan Pathan, Muniza Irshad

International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies

Secured flow of information through the network and play important role in the management information systems. In this paper I describe Secured Network Model For Corporate & Business Organization In Based On Network Level IP Security (IPSec) Encryption & Its Physical Layout Using Multilayered Approach. I have four important considerations for adoption of secured network model as secured network model for management information system.

Identification Of Ip Information Of Pakistan & Vulnerability Assessment, Nizar Diamond Ali Aug 2005

Identification Of Ip Information Of Pakistan & Vulnerability Assessment, Nizar Diamond Ali

International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies

Detailed IP information of Pakistan was not available prior to this study - at least not to the general public. It was not known how to harvest this information, from where and using which tools. This study came as answer to this challenge and shows how the IP information can be collected, what sources of information to use, methodologies to adopt and tools to utilize for this purpose. The next step was find out areas where network security lapses are present - i.e., to see which servers and which services are vulnerable to known attacks and vulnerabilities. In this way, …

Study Of Data Provenance And Annotation Model For Information Reliability Suggested For Pathological Laboratory Environment In Pakistan, Naila Aamir, Aslam Pervez Aug 2005

Study Of Data Provenance And Annotation Model For Information Reliability Suggested For Pathological Laboratory Environment In Pakistan, Naila Aamir, Aslam Pervez

International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies

Trust and reliability of information is a very critical issue of today's information age. Keeping provenance of data not only ensures us about its origination but it also keeps track of all the changes that happen to the data through out its life cycle. In this paper we have discussed the importance of data provenance, difference between Where & Why Provenance and different models for keeping such information. The objective of this study is to select a provenance model which can be implemented in scientific environment of our country. For this purpose we have taken the annotation model and have …
