Proxy Voting Coordination Mechanisms: Determining How Agents Should Coordinate In A Continuous Preference Space, Michael D. Hegerhorst
Proxy Voting Coordination Mechanisms: Determining How Agents Should Coordinate In A Continuous Preference Space, Michael D. Hegerhorst
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
Illness, injury, and other impediments are common occurrences of everyday life. Such impediments prevent or deter voters from participating in important parts of the voting process, especially deliberation, bargaining, and the voting itself. Without participation, the results of the vote may change. There is a need to provide a system in which voters are still able to participate in important voting processes to ensure their vote is represented. We explore ‘proxy voting,’ a system in which voters are able to select another individual, or proxy, to vote on their behalf. By choosing a good proxy, a voter can still …
Micro Grid Control Optimization With Load And Solar Prediction, Shaju Saha
Micro Grid Control Optimization With Load And Solar Prediction, Shaju Saha
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
Using renewable energy can save money and keep the environment cleaner. Installing a solar PV system is a one-time cost but it can generate energy for a lifetime. Solar PV does not generate carbon emissions while producing power. This thesis evaluates the value of being able to make accurate predictions in the use of solar energy. It uses predicted solar power and load for a system and a battery to store the energy for future use and calculates the operating cost or profit in several designed conditions. Various factors like a different place, tuning the capacity of sources, changing buy/sell …
Decision Making Using Trust And Risk In Self-Adaptive Agent Organization, Kamilia Ahmadi
Decision Making Using Trust And Risk In Self-Adaptive Agent Organization, Kamilia Ahmadi
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
Interaction between agents is one of the key factors in multi-agent societies in order to cooperatively execute complex tasks which are beyond the capability of a single agent. In the self-adaptation society, agents try to keep best neighbors around themselves. Agents use history of past iterations to evaluate their neighbors and locally modify their structural links. Main characteristics of this model are its decentralization, dynamicity and no need of external control. This research at first deals with implementing self-adaptive agent organization. Then it focuses on evaluating cooperation peers in decision making. Trust as an evaluation mechanism lies at the core …
