A Survey On Securing Iot Ecosystems And Adaptive Network Vision, Tejaswini Goli, Yoohwan Kim Jun 2021

A Survey On Securing Iot Ecosystems And Adaptive Network Vision, Tejaswini Goli, Yoohwan Kim

Computer Science Faculty Research

The rapid growth of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices and the large network of interconnected devices pose new security challenges and privacy threats that would put those devices at high risk and cause harm to the affiliated users. This paper emphasizes such potential security challenges and proposes possible solutions in the field of IoT Security, mostly focusing on automated or adaptive networks. Considering the fact that IoT became widely adopted, the intricacies in the security field tend to grow expeditiously. Therefore, it is necessary for businesses to adopt new security protocols and to the notion of automated network security practices driven by …

Storing Iot Data Securely In A Private Ethereum Blockchain, Vinay Kumar Calastry Ramesh May 2019

Storing Iot Data Securely In A Private Ethereum Blockchain, Vinay Kumar Calastry Ramesh

UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones

Internet of Things (IoT) is a set of technologies that enable network-connected devices to perform an action or share data among several connected devices or to a shared database. The actions can be anything from switching on an Air Conditioning device remotely to turning on the ignition of a car through a command issued from a remote location or asking Alexa or Google Assistant to search for weather conditions in an area. IoT has proved to be game-changing for many industries such as Supply Chain, Shipping and Transportation providing updates on the status of shipments in real time. This has …

Vulnerability Analysis And Security Framework For Zigbee Communication In Iot, Charbel Azzi Dec 2016

Vulnerability Analysis And Security Framework For Zigbee Communication In Iot, Charbel Azzi

UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones

Securing IoT (Internet of Things) systems in general, regardless of the communication technology used, has been the concern of many researchers and private companies. As for ZigBee security concerns, much research and many experiments have been conducted to better predict the nature of potential security threats. In this research we are addressing several ZigBee vulnerabilities by performing first hand experiments and attack simulations on ZigBee protocol. This will allow us to better understand the security issues surveyed and find ways to mitigate them. Based on the attack simulations performed and the survey conducted, we have developed a ZigBee IoT framework …

A Multi-Level Trust Management Scheme For The Internet Of Things, Anusha Ramanathan May 2015

A Multi-Level Trust Management Scheme For The Internet Of Things, Anusha Ramanathan

UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones

The significance of the Internet of Things (IoT) in current trends is continuously rising. It is an umbrella term that signifies a network of physical devices that are embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity that enable greater functions and services through the exchange of data accomplished through interconnection. The applications of the IoT are varied and numerous; they range from relatively simple home automation scenarios to the much more complex scenarios of interconnected smart cities. IoT is expected to dominate the future with huge amounts of content oriented traffic that is a result of intensive interactions between the millions …
