Cyclodextrin-Active Natural Compounds In Food Applications: A Review Of Antibacterial, Bingren Tian, Yumei Liu
Cyclodextrin-Active Natural Compounds In Food Applications: A Review Of Antibacterial, Bingren Tian, Yumei Liu
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
Many natural compounds have excellent activity against different bacteria. However, their food use to inhibit the bacteria is often limited by poor water solubility, or instability to light, heat, oxygen, and other environmental factors. Cyclodextrin combines with these natural compounds could not only overcome these shortcomings, but also increase the antibacterial ability of active compounds. This review focuses on the following aspects of active natural compounds in cyclodextrin-based food: the preparation, food applications, and their possible antibacterial mechanisms of different systems. Both cyclodextrin and its derivatives are able to selectively combine with different guest molecules, such as terpenes, phenols and …

The dependence of the changes in physico-chemical and rheological properties of solutions of the composition in systems [11,82%NH4CI +1,65% (NH4) 2SO4+6,76%К2S04+79,77%H2O]-CO(NH2)2 and [11,82%NH4CI+1,65%(NH4)2SO4+6,76%K2S04+ 79,77%H2O]-NH4NO3. On the basis of the studied diagrams "composition-properties" the optimal ratio of the components of the mother solution: nitrogen-containing fertilizers is 60:40 and 50:50, respectively, with the addition of urea and ammonium nitrate

Global Stratospheric Measurements Of The Isotopologues Of Methane From The Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment Fourier Transform Spectrometer, Eric M. Buzan, Chris A. Beale, Chris. D. Boone, Peter F. Bernath

This paper presents an analysis of observations of methane and its two major isotopologues, CH3D and 13CH4, from the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment (ACE) satellite between 2004 and 2013. Additionally, atmospheric methane chemistry is modeled using the Whole Atmospheric Community Climate Model (WACCM). ACE retrievals of methane extend from 6 km for all isotopologues to 75 km for 12CH4, 35 km for CH3D, and 50 km for 13CH4. While total methane concentrations retrieved from ACE agree well with the model, values of δD-CH4 and δ13C-CH …
Water Vapour Variability In The High-Latitude Upper Troposphere- Part 2: Impact Of Volcanic Eruptions, Christopher E. Sioris, Jason Zou, C. Thomas Mcelroy, Chris D. Boone, Patrick E. Sheese, Peter F. Bernath
Water Vapour Variability In The High-Latitude Upper Troposphere- Part 2: Impact Of Volcanic Eruptions, Christopher E. Sioris, Jason Zou, C. Thomas Mcelroy, Chris D. Boone, Patrick E. Sheese, Peter F. Bernath
Chemistry & Biochemistry Faculty Publications
The impact of volcanic eruptions on water vapour in the high-latitude upper troposphere is studied using deseasonalized time series based on observations by the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment (ACE) water vapour sensors, namely MAESTRO (Measurements of Aerosol Extinction in the Stratosphere and Troposphere Retrieved by Occultation) and the Fourier Transform Spectrometer (ACE-FTS). The two eruptions with the greatest impact on the high-latitude upper troposphere during the time frame of this satellitebased remote sensing mission are chosen. The Puyehue-Cordón Caulle volcanic eruption in June 2011 was the most explosive in the past 24 years and is shown to be able to account …

The work is related with the finding out of magnetic phases in strongly anisotropic high-temperature superconductor Bi1,7Pb0,3Sr2Ca2Cu3O10-δ in the temperature region where the superconductor is in the normal state. It was studied the temperature dependence of the paramagnetic probe EPR line width. In the normal state at T>Tc near 175 K it was revealed a pick in the temperature dependence of line width. In this region it was observed the time increase of the line width with the characteristic time ~ 17 min. This shows the possibility of magnetic phase formation in this material.

Analysis Of The A3(X3)3 Nuclear Spin System And -Electron Coupled Hyperfine Splitting Constants In Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Juana Acrivos
Faculty Publications, Chemistry
The nuclear spin functions for the A3(X3)3 system have been developed and used to analyse the NMR spectra of (CH3)3C6H3 and (CF3)3C6H3. The π-electron coupled hyperfine splitting constants, obtained from the Ramsey theory with simple Hückel M.O.'s for benzene and without the assumption of an average energy of excitation for the virtual processes which give rise to the coupling, are in agreement with the hyperfine constants observed between the methyl groups and the ring protons in the above compounds.
