  • The Delta variant is nearly twice as contagious as previous variants.
  • Some data suggest the Delta variant might cause more severe illness than previous strains in unvaccinated persons.
  • Unvaccinated people remain the greatest concern.
  • The greatest risk of transmission is among unvaccinated people who are much more likely to contract, and therefore transmit the virus.

COVID-19 vaccination, especially, in children has been a point of both political and scientific contention since its inception. The purpose of this project was to qualitatively assess patients' perceptions on COVID-19 vaccination for children between the ages of 5-11 years old using survey data. Understanding our patient's perceptions on why they may or may not support vaccination may guide how we approach discussing the topic.
