Does obesity have an effect on dental caries in South Central Kentucky Previous research has presented information stating a high prevalence of tooth decay found within the state of Kentucky. In addition, studies have indicated an elevated rate of childhood obesity found within the region. As a future dental hygienist in Kentucky, it is important to understand if a correlation exists between tooth decay and childhood obesity to better educate both patients and caregivers.
