The high prevalence of dental caries among children and adolescents, especially those from lower socio-economic backgrounds, is a significant nationwide health concern. Early prevention, such as dental sealants and fluoride varnish (FV), is essential, but access to this care remains limited and disparate. In this research, a national dataset is utilized to assess sealants' reach and effectiveness in preventing tooth decay, particularly focusing on 2nd molars that emerge during early adolescence, a current gap in the knowledge base. March 2020 changed the healthcare field entirely. When the COVID-19 pandemic swept through the United States in early 2020, it was recommended that surgical departments nationwide shutdown altogether or at least decrease their workloads to exclusively emergent procedures. This step was taken both to save surgical equipment for more critical patients and to offload those staff members from surgical departments to more critical areas in the hospital systems.

Problem Ankyloglossia occurs when the tongue cannot extend past the gums or lips due to frenulum restriction. In breast feeding, proper movement of the tongue around the nipple is hindered causing difficulty for the infant to obtain a proper latch. This may result in slow weight gain (SWG), failure to thrive (FTT), and dehydration due to poor milk production. Evaluating for ankyloglossia is difficult, however, the Hazelbaker Ankyloglossia Tool for Lingual Frenulum Function (HATLFF) may be of benefit.

Problem: Breast cancer is a life-threatening condition, in which the prognosis could potentially worsen with a delay in the detection and commencement of treatment. Scheduling patients for mammograms continues to allow for long wait times that exist in screening mammography. These hollow spherical systems are made via the self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers and have found use in a range of areas from drug delivery, to cellular models, to nanoreactors. Problem. Patients in rural or medically underserved areas (MUAs) with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) have limited access to primary care preventative services, making them even less likely to obtain preventative care, placing them at even greater risk for adverse health outcomes.

Purpose: This Quality Improvement (QI) project evaluated the impact of an existing Diabetes Care Coordination (DCC) program at an urban clinic for clients with no health insurance in the Midwest. Diabetes related indicators of those enrolled in the DCC program and client reported barriers were documented over a 19 month period.

Sample: Clients included were 18 years and older, with no insurance, having the diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes mellitus, and were enrolled in the DCC program within the first six months of the program's initiation.

Farmworkers experience high rates of occupational injury, illness, and mortality, yet have limited access to health care.
