This is important, as Professor Farringer acknowledges, because while telehealth advocates pre-date the pandemic, barriers prevented the implementation of telehealth in a widespread manner. Previous studies on the use of social media (SM) during the COVID-19 pandemic have focused on the use in sustaining academic communication. This study aimed to assess the association between SM and the ease of transitioning to online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic using survey data from 872 undergraduate students. The findings showed that Snapchat and Instagram were the most preferred social media sites among participants. Compared to students who use SM for <2 hours a day, use for > 5 hours (AOR= 2.44; 95% CI, 1.13 – 5.25) or 3 to 5 hours a day (AOR = 2.01, 95% CI 1.06-3.81) increased the odds of easily …

This includes the responses of multiple actors involved with telehealth. Background: Prone positioning has been a well-studied intervention in patients experiencing acute respiratory distress syndrome. The intervention has proven to provide beneficial physiological effects.

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted using electronic databases. Key search terms were: Covid-19, Coronavirus, outcomes, and prone position. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were outlined and the articles examined for each. Whittemore and Knafl’s (2005) integrative approach was used to conduct this review.

In this paper, I examine what the Indonesian government’s handling of the Covid crisis in 2021 reveals about the priorities of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), as well as his political agenda and attitude towards the country’s democracy, as he strives to cement his legacy. Training to become a nurse has always been rigorous. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the stress and workload for nursing students and the medical professionals under whom they train, but it also provided a new opportunity for experiential learning. The School of Nursing at the University of Maine decided early in the pandemic to lend a hand wherever possible — training virtually every student to vaccinate patients against COVID-19 and provide other support. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to explore what self-identified nurses discussed on the nursing SubReddit during the Covid-19 pandemic between March 2020 to May 2020.

Methods: The Hsieh and Shannon (2005) summative content analysis with emergent categorical development was used to categorize the naturalistic data.

Findings: Through analysis, six content categories were identified from the nursing SubReddit: (a) employers’ approaches to the pandemic; (b) emergency preparedness in response to the pandemic; (c) shared experiences; (d) nursing students and new graduate nurses; (e) coping; and, (f) gratitude to nurses.

PURPOSE: Prior research examining the impact of short-term self-quarantine indicates altered eating behaviors and weight change. Roughly ten months after the first lockdown was announced, the COVID-19 pandemic continues without abatement. The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of long-term COVID-19 guidelines on eating behaviors and weight change.

Objective: To investigate effects of surgical and transparent face masks during the Covid-19 pandemic on audiovisual speech recognition of words for deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

Design: Recorded Word Intelligibility by Picture Identification test (WIPI) was presented in quiet via a computer monitor to children in a quiet test room. The acoustic power spectra of each mask type were compared to the baseline no mask condition. Throughout the world, contact tracing (CT) apps were developed, which play a significant role in mitigating the spread of COVID-19. This work examines the current state of security and privacy landscape of mobile CT apps. Our work is the first attempt, to our knowledge, which provides a comprehensive analysis of 70 CT apps used worldwide as of year Q1 2021.
