Objective: We investigated the effectiveness of functional recovery after 2-week post-acute rehabilitation in elderly people with hip fractures. Design: We divided the patients (N = 129) into 2 groups: the post-acute care (PAC) group (N = 90) that received 2-week in-hospital rehabilitation and the control group (N =39) that were discharged immediately. Outcomes were measured according to the Barthel Index (BI) score. Results: The BI scores at 2 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months were higher in the PAC group than those in the control group, especially for transfer and mobility. Methods: This research is a retrospective observational study. We sampled data from a nationally representative sample of 1,000,000 enrollees of the single-payer government-based National Health Insurance (NHI) program in Taiwan from 1996 to 2013. Claims data for rehabilitation during index admission after amputation were analyzed, and factors associated with IR use were identified. Objectives: Performance-based outcome measures (PBOM) are suggested to evaluate change in function during rehabilitation after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the measurement properties of the 30-Second Chair Stand Test (30CST) and 10-Metre Walk Test (10MWT) in patients following TKA.

Methods: Eighty-three patients completed two PBOM on three occasions following surgery. Patients also completed the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index and Global Rating of Change (GRC).

Introduction: Characterization of residual neuromotor capacity after spinal cord injury (SCI) is challenging. The current gold standard for measurement of sensorimotor function after SCI, the International Society for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (ISNCSCI) exam, seeks to determine isolated intentional muscle activation, however many individuals with SCI exhibit intentional movements and muscle activation patterns which are not confined to specific joint or muscle. Such camps present a unique experiential learning opportunity for students in speech-language pathology (SLP) programs. In 2015, over 21 million refugees were displaced worldwide. A significant issue faced by this population is occupational deprivation – being deprived of engagement in meaningful activities. Despite this being a global problem, information on interventions that address occupational deprivation has not been synthesized. To bridge this gap, we conducted a scoping review to examine interventions that can be used when working with refugees who face this issue.
