A normalisationof targeted genes using the appropriate reference genes is necessary for reliable quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) experiments. This study aimed to investigate the appropriate reference genes and the numbers of the genes required for qRT-PCR in canine pulmonary arteries. Pulmonary arteries were collected from twenty-three dogs at necropsy. Candidate reference genesincluding ribosomal protein L32 (RPL32), ribosomal protein L13a (RPL13A), ribosomal protein S18 (RPS18), TATA box binding protein (TBP), beta-2-microglobulin (B2M), ribosomal protein S5 (RPS5), ribosomal protein S19 (RPS19) and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) from pulmonary arteries were examined by qRT-PCR and analysed using four major algorithms, including …

In this study, we investigated the prevalence of Diarrhea pathogens in pet dogs referred to as Canine Parvovirus (CPV) and Canine Rotavirus (CRV)in western Taiwan using conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Fecalsampleswere collected from240 dogs which have the symptomsofdiarrhea examined bythe veterinaryhospitals from March 2015 to March 2017.The PCR sensitivityof total DNAs extracted from 0.1g fecal samples rangedfrom 10ng to100 ng. This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the prevalence of Trypanosoma evansi infection and its associated risk factors in camels in the Jazan region, southwestern Saudi Arabia. A total of 679 blood samples were collected from three local breeds of camel – Awadia, Awarkia and Sawahelle – in 11 randomly selected governorates of Jazan region. Blood samples were screened by Giemsa-stained blood film (GSBF) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques. The overall prevalence of T. evansi was 30.9% (210/679, CI: 27.6–34.5%) by PCR, whereas a prevalence of 22.2% (151/679, CI: 19.3–25.5%) was revealed by GSBF. La Ehrlichiosis Monocítica Canina (EMC) y la Babesiosis Canina, son patologías de distribución mundial causadas por Ehrlichia canis y Babesia canis, respectivamente, comparten vector (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) y existen reportes en Colombia de infección individual y co-infección. La Fuerza Aérea Colombiana (FAC) cuenta con caninos entrenados en detecciones. En las Unidades de clima cálido del año 2008 al 2012, se ha reportado una alta tasa de mortalidad presuntivamente EMC, sin diagnóstico confirmado.
