The Effect Of Exercise On Symptoms Of Depression In Adults Diagnosed With Clinical Depression: An Integrative Literature Review, Tibil Felix
Grace Peterson Nursing Research Colloquium
Background: While many healthcare providers are currently looking for alternative methods such as exercise to treat depression, there are limited studies to report how exercise effects symptoms of depression in adults diagnosed with clinical depression and whether an ideal exercise prescription exists.
Objective: The purpose of this integrative literature review was to evaluate the effect of exercise on adults with clinical depression.
Method: An integrative literature review was used. The tidal model of mental health as proposed by Dr. Phil Barker and Poppy Buchanan-Barker was used as a basis for this review. The keywords “clinical depression, exercise, adults, depression treatments, …

Alternative Headache Treatments in Adolescents:
An Integrated Literature Review
Joanna Youstra
Faculty Sponsor: Lauren Rossen
Background: Complementary and alternative therapies can be integrated into treatment to help reduce the level of pain. However, there are limited studies to explore literature for studies to identify the modalities of CAM that have demonstrated efficiency on decreasing headache pain and influencing factors affecting the use of CAM for headache in adolescents.
Objectives: The objective was to determine what are the most commonly used modalities of CAM and what are the factors influencing adolescents to choose CAM use.
Method: An integrative literature review was …

Honors Theses and Capstones
Melanins are organic polymers made up of 5,6-dihydroxyindole carboxylic acid (DHICA) and 5,6-dihydroxyindole (DHI). Biochemical systems synthesize melanins through a complex reaction pathway. Previous research exhibited that naturally-occurring melanins (NatMel) and their synthetic analogues (SynMel) can potentially serve as electrode materials for aqueous charge storage devices. Small surface area creates technical challenges for these melanins as charge storage materials. This research herein demonstrates that the structure of melanins can affect the charge storage capacities of monovalent Na+cations and divalent Mg2+ cations. 2-D sheet-like peptide melanins (PepMel) were synthesized into tripeptides consisting of aspartic acid (D), phenylalanine (F), …
