Multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MP-MRI)-derived radiomics have been shown to capture sub-visual patterns for the quantitative characterization of prostate cancer (PC) phenotypes. The present dissertation seeks to develop, evaluate, and compare the performance of an MRI-derived radiomic model for the prediction of PC recurrence following definitive treatment with radical prostatectomy (RP).

MP-MRI was obtained from 339 patients who had a minimum of 2 years follow-up following RP at three institutions. The prostate was manually delineated as the region of interest and 924 radiomic features were extracted. Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is the most common cause of vaginal infections in women of reproductive age, with a prevalence of 29% in women ages 14- 49 in the United States (Center for Disease Control {CDC}, 2020). The exact pathogenesis of BV is unclear; however, several risk factors such as having unprotected sex, multiple new sexual partners, or frequent douching can lead to BV (Afolabi et al., 2016). Background: Prior research has shown that physical and occupational therapy students have a higher prevalence of hypermobility than that which is seen within the general population. Throughout the literature, the rates of injury are greater in those with hypermobile joints. It has also been found that females have higher rates of hypermobility than males. Background: Breast cancer, the leading cause of cancer in Kenya among women, has a prevalence of 57.1 per 100,000 women and an annual mortality of 3.7 per 100,000. Early breast cancer is curable, but has a residual risk of recurrence of 10.4% in the first 5 years. Fifty percent of the recurrences occur after the first 5 years after diagnosis. Recurrent breast cancer is associated with poorer prognosis and higher mortality rates.

Background

Catheter ablation has emerged as treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF). Health care-related variables have not been explored as predictors of first ablation outcome. Determining factors associated with arrhythmia recurrence may help select patients likely to benefit. The objective was to identify variables associated with recurrence following AF ablation.

Methods

Retrospective cohort design of 314 AF patients who had undergone first ablation. Follow-up visits occurred at 3, 6 and 12 months. Variables and the outcome of recurrence were modeled with Cox proportional hazards analysis.

Results/Conclusions

After mean follow-up of 239+/-125 days, 110/314 patients (35.0%) experienced recurrence. Adjusted Cox proportional hazards …

The purpose of this cross-sectional, secondary data analysis was to explore, non-modifiable (stable) trait factors and modifiable (transient) state factors associated with fear of recurrence (FOR) in breast cancer survivors. Antecedent trait factors included demographic, clinical, social/behavioral factors, postulated mediator state factors included pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, depression, state anxiety and perceived stress, and FOR was the outcome variable. It is characterized by the uncontrolled accumulation of blood cells. Leukemia is divided into two categories: myelogenous or lymphocytic, each of which can be acute or chronic.
