Background and Objectives: Students’ perception of the educational setting is an important source for improving and applying changes to the medical educational environment. This study aimed to determine how medical students perceive the important factors of the learning environment in Internal Medicine at a rural affiliated teaching hospital.

Methods: This was a descriptive study carried out in the Department of Medicine, Sakon Nakhon Hospital, Thailand, from May 2021 to April 2023. Objectives: To estimate the incidence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among the hemodialysis patients and the related risk factors of COVID-19 severity for critical outcomes including intensive care unit (ICU) admission or death. Fahr’s syndrome, a rare syndrome, is characterized by symmetrical and bilateral intracranial calcifications. A 23-year-old male patient presented with generalized tonic–clonic convulsion and muscle cramps for 1 month. The patient’s blood counts, blood sugar levels, serum sodium, and serum potassium were normal. Computed tomography scan of the brain revealed bilateral symmetrical hyperdensities, suggestive of calcification in globus pallidus, putamen, thalami, caudate and dentate nuclei of the cerebellum, and subcortical white matter of both cerebral hemispheres. Background - Chronic liver diseases are a major global health burden. CYGB, Human IV globin is abundantly expressed in Hepatic Stellate Cell(HSCs) between hepatocytes. CYGB can bind oxygen and nitric oxide and is said to protect HSCs from reactive oxygen species(ROS).

Aim - to estimate role of CD248 and Cygb in process of liver fibrosis.

Patients and Methods - This study was conducted on forty-four Egyptian patients with hepatic stenosis detected by ultrasound, and forty healthy volunteers as control group.

Results - Our results showed statistical significant (p-value < 0.001) increased CD248 in patients group (189.03 ± 66.6) when compared with control group (138.7 ± 36.5), decreased Cygb in patients group (1.62 ± 0.35) when compared with control group (1.93 ± 0.26)

Abstract

Background/Aim: The coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic have a major impact on the clinical course of chronic diseases including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In the current study we aimed to evaluate the clinical relapse and worsening of IBD activity during Covid-19 pandemic.

Methods: 125 patients included and followed for one year. Of them, 98 and 27 patients had inactive and active IBD before the study, respectively. We report a case of Dengue infection in a 20- year- old male with sickle cell anemia who presents to the emergency department with fever, retro orbital headache, bone pain, back pain and myalgia. Laboratory tests revealed elevated hematocrit, thrombocytopenia, IgM and IgG antibodies positivity to dengue virus. The patient was treated with intravenous fluid hydration and paracetamol with rapid deterioration and development of acute respiratory distress and hypovolemic shock due to alveolar hemorrhage.
