Immunohistochemical Detection Of Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis In A Cat, Nopadon Pirarat, Yumi Une, Yasuo Nomura
Immunohistochemical Detection Of Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis In A Cat, Nopadon Pirarat, Yumi Une, Yasuo Nomura
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
A female, 10-month old, mixed breed cat showed clinical signs of severe dehydration, purulent nasal discharge, dyspnea, severe crepitating lung sounds and no response to antibiotic treatment. Upon necropsy, histopathology revealed severe, diffuse, fibrinopurulent pleuropneumonia and numerous, homogeneous, amphophilic, intranuclear inclusion bodies in the pulmonary alveolar macrophages, bronchial and alveolar epithelium and bronchial glandular epitheliums. Immunohistochemical studies using 3 different monoclonal, anti-Feline Herpesvirus type 1 antibodies, revealed immunoreactivity of viral antigen in the lung that was associated with the histopathological changes. Monoclonal, anti-glycoprotein B, antibody showed the strongest immunoreactivity.

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Formalin fixed tissues from an aborted foal which had been diagnosed as having Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) infection, on histopathological criteria, were examined for EHV antigen using immunohistochemistry. EHV antigen was found in the focal necrotic area of the liver, especially in hepatocytes and Kupffer cells. Intranuclear and intracytoplasmic, immuno-positive labelings were also prominent in bronchiolar epithelial cells. The method allowed the visualization of the antigenic site distribution and their subsequent correlation with histopathological changes.

In this study, our aim was to determine the distribution of specific immunoreactivities in some regions of the digestive tract of the pike-perch (Stizostedion lucioperca) against the antisera Gastrin, Serotonin (5 HT), and Cholecystokinin (CCK). The samples were taken from the stomach, intestine and pyloric caeca and the Avidin-Biotin-Immunoperoxidase method was applied. At the end of this application the immunoreactivities against all antisera were observed as intensively in the cells of the gland and less in the cells of Lamina epithelialis. The most intensive regions of immunoreactive cells were determined as the fundus, pylorus, anterior intestine and pyloric caeca. Immunoreactivity …

Nucleolar organizer regions (NORs) are chromosomal segments in which ribosomal RNA is encoded. The AgNOR technique, which reveals these regions, has rarely been used in diagnosis and preceding the prognosis of pituitary adenoma. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the correlation of hormonal profile with the AgNOR counts, and the correlation of recurrence with the AgNOR counts and to determine the concordance between the evaluations of two different observers. This study included 33 patients wıth pituitary adenoma. The slides were stained with hematoxylin and eosin, silver colloid method for NORs and immunohistochemistry for the hormone expressions. Consistency was …

Glomerular Hla Dr Dp Dq Expression In Renal Diseases, Sülen Sarioğlu, Feza Kirimca, Caner Çavdar, Mehmet Türkmen
Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences
The expression of major histocompatibility antigens class II (MHC II) in renal diseases has been studied extensively in the tubulo-interstitial compartment, while there are few articles about their expression in the glomeruli. In this series, glomerular expression of HLA DR DP DQ is evaluated in a total of 62 cases of pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, tubulointerstitial nephritis and systemic diseases with renal manifestations in order to identify their relationship with disease status and renal scarring. Formaline fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections from renal biopsy and nefrectomy specimens were stained by an antibody against HLA DR DP DQ by the streptavidin biotin method. …
