Nurse residency programs have been identified as a strategy for supporting new nurses as they transition to clinical and professional practice but the impact has not been adequately explored. Exploring the transition experiences of new nurses in residency programs supports healthcare administrators’ understanding and may provide enhancements. Guided by Bridges’s transition theory, this research gave nurses who had recently graduated from a residency program, the opportunity to express their unique transition experience. The nursing shortage is a growing concern across the country, especially due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Novice nurse retention is essential to solving this national problem. The purpose of this study was to examine whether intravenous (IV) access support influences job satisfaction and retention among novice nurses to improve their retention. Herzberg’s two-factor theory guided this research; IV access support acts as the hygiene factor. The Veteran’s Health Administration (VHA) is the largest employer of registered nurses in the United States. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing predicts there will be a nursing shortage through the year 2030 and replacing and training each nurse is expensive and negatively impacts patient care. Some sales managers of medical imaging devices lack strategies to improve long-term customer retention. Increasing retention can save these sales managers up to 50% of their customer acquisition costs. Grounded in the service profit chain theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies sales managers of medical imaging devices use to improve long-term customer retention. The participants comprised seven sales managers of medical imaging devices from three companies who successfully achieved long-term customer retention.
