The somatosensory evoked potentials following tibial nerve stimulation were recorded in 18 patients with acute traumatic spinal cord injuries at 3 to 5 weeks. The results were correlated with the patient's neurological recovery.One cervical case had absent transmission in unilateral cortical SEP but still with good neurological recovery later on, one lumbar case had no recorded SEP either at L2 or cortical level got complete recovery within 3 months.
