Objective: The objective of this selective EBM review is to determine whether or not asenapine or aripiprazole are more effective than a placebo for reducing episodes of mania in children with bipolar I disorder.
Study Design: Review of two randomized control trials (RCTs) published in 2013 and 2015, and a flexible-dose, open-label, extension study published in 2016.
Data Sources: Each article used was published in English and found using PubMed database. All articles were published in peer-reviewed journals.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this selective EBM review is to determine whether or not positive distractions improve pediatric patient satisfaction in children undergoing medical procedures.
STUDY DESIGN: Systematic review compiling data from two randomized controlled trials and one convenience prospective trial between 2012 and 2015, all in the English language.
DATA SOURCES: After a thorough search of PubMed and Cochrane, three pertinent studies were found to include in this review. The selected studies were evaluated to assess the effectiveness of positive distraction techniques in improving pediatric patient satisfaction.

Objective: The objective of this selective EBM review is to determine whether or not “Is virtual reality an effective pain management treatment during the wound care of pediatric burn patients?”
Study Design: Systematic review of three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published, in English, in peer-reviewed journals between 2008-2014.
Data Sources: The three RCTs were found using the PubMed and Ovid databases.
Outcomes measured: All three studies measured pain perception and intensity using self-reporting questionnaires, and visual analogue scales.
