Background: Medical student burnout and anxiety has received growing attention in the past decade. The culture of competition and assessment has resulted in increasing stress levels amongst medical students, causing a decline in their academic performance and overall mental health. The objective of this qualitative analysis was to characterize recommendations from educational experts to aid students’ academic progress. Methods: At an international meeting in 2019, worksheets were completed by medical educators during a panel discussion. Four distinct generations have come together to work cooperatively, producing higher quality nursing students who are engaged and satisfied in their learning experience from nursing faculty. The multigenerational nursing faculty workforce must learn to work together through positive collaboration, using teamwork strategies, and decreasing conflict and negative influences in the workplace. Strauss and Howe’s (1991) generational-cycle model depicted four archetypes that recur throughout history every 22 years; the life stages of generations provided the foundation for this study. The substantial increase in online nursing program enrollment demands that nurse educators be adept in the delivery of online education; however, a significant challenge exists in how to deliver practice-based nursing education in the online environment. Technological innovation is an important aspect of teaching and learning in the 21st century. This article examines faculty attitudes toward technology use in the classroom at one regional public university in the United States. Building on a faculty-led initiative to develop a Community of Practice for improving education, this study used a mixed-method approach of a faculty-developed, electronic survey to assess this topic. Findings from 72 faculty members revealed an overall positive stance toward technology in the classroom and the average faculty member utilized about six technology tools in their courses.
