Objective: To understand advanced cancer patients’ experience of uncertainty when receiving comprehensive tumor genomic profiling (CTGP) results, and their perceptions of how healthcare provider (HCP) communication impacts uncertainty.

Methods: Thirty-seven semi-structured interviews with advanced cancer patients were conducted within two weeks of patients receiving CTGP results. Transcripts were thematically analyzed, using an inductive approach.

Results: We identified three themes that illustrate patient experience of uncertainties when receiving CTGP results: 1. Introduction: Depression and demoralization are highly prevalent among individuals with physical illnesses but their relationship is still unclear.

Objective: To examine the relationship between clinical features of depression and demoralization with the network approach to psychopathology.

Methods: Participants were recruited from the medical wards of a University Hospital in Italy. The Demoralization Scale (DS) was used to assess demoralization, while the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) to assess depressive symptoms. This paper reports on experiences of dealing with practical matters after death. Semi structured interviews with bereaved individuals were thematically analyzed. Within the theme of coping, dealing with practical matters was a significant stressor and was found to be extremely challenging, time consuming, and to negatively impact on mental and emotional well-being. This study adds new insights on the challenges experienced by the bereaved when attending to practical matters and may help to inform the design of bereavement support, inform standard operating procedures of businesses, and government bereavement leave legislation.
