This study aimed to understand the strengths and limitations of health literacy skills among older adults. The results informed a resource to improve any discovered gaps in health literacy. Participants (n=50) were selected through convenience sampling methods at the Saratoga Senior Center in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLQ) was distributed to evaluate health literacy skills among older adults. Measures of means and standard deviations were used to assess strengths and limitations in health literacy skills among nine domains of the HLQ. Does having smoked cigarettes have any relationship to depression? This study explores the relationship between cigarette smoking and depressive frequency within the Asian American adult population. I hypothesized that Asian American adults who have ever smoked a cigarette would report more depression compared to Asian American adults who have never smoked cigarettes. To test this hypothesis, I analyzed data from the 2021 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) using a subset of 1704 Asian American adults aged 18 to 85+. Malnutrition exists in multiple forms when a person has an imbalanced intake of food and or vitamins. We include nutrition related illness such obesity and undernutrition in our understanding of malnutrition. The obesity pandemic has historically been associated with developed countries, however processes of globalization have led to socioeconomic development, higher incomes and urbanization which have contributed to the increasing prevalence of obesity in Sub-Saharan African countries. The nutrition transition theory has been used to discuss the major shift in diet and activity patterns at the population level. The objective of this paper is to illustrate the importance of using a highly individualized approach in addressing issues related to the prevention and treatment of alcohol and other drug abuse and dependence. Methods include the review of current literature and extensive case study examples from the author's clinical experience. The focus of the discussion is on increasing the effectiveness of prevention and treatment efforts. Recommendations include utilizing a broader range of methods, paying particular attention to the unique qualities of each individual.

Multiple sclerosis is a degenerative neurological disorder, affecting approximately 250,000-350,000 persons in the United States. Women are diagnosed twice as frequently as men, with the majority of those diagnoses occurring during their childbearing (typically between the ages of 20 and 40) years. For women with multiple sclerosis, the decision to bear children is complicated by numerous factors. First, conventional cultural images of motherhood rarely acknowledge women with disability of any kind as "fit" mothers. For a disabled woman to pursue motherhood often means confronting predominant ideals and frequently having to justify her decision. Second, multiple sclerosis has proven to be …
