A lack of emotional skills may affect a nurse’s personal well-being and have negative effects on patient outcomes, particularly for patients with psychiatric-mental health conditions. Raising awareness of emotional intelligence (EI) among psychiatric/mental health nurses (PMHN) is therefore important.
