Context: Burnout is prevalent among healthcare providers. Research has identified evidence-based intervention and preventative methods for use against burnout. There is limited research surrounding perceptions of burnout among those that supervise healthcare providers. Purpose: To explore supervisors’ knowledge, attitudes, and interventions related to burnout of healthcare providers within a hospital or clinic setting. Design: Consensual qualitative research with emergent design Methods: Eight supervisors were interviewed using a semi-structured interview approach via virtual platform. Context: Concussions are a serious injury that could result in both short and long-term consequences, particularly if not recognized and managed appropriately. Concussion education has been implemented, mostly as a result of Concussion legislation. Coach and athlete concussion education has been evaluated in the literature, however the literature is scarce on parental concussion education.

Purpose: To assess concussion knowledge and understanding in guardians of Georgia High School Association (GHSA) student-athletes that completed the GHSA concussion awareness form, in comparison to those that received additional concussion education.

Commonly known as “the flu”, influenza is a contagious respiratory infection that causes mild to severe illness. The CDC recommends annual influenza vaccination as the best method for prevention of the illness. This study was conducted to analyze university students’ perceptions and knowledge of influenza as well as influenza vaccination. A survey was completed by 284 Georgia Southern University students. This research found university students to possess basic knowledge of influenza and its implications for one’s health. Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects millions globally. Poverty and obesity are factors that affect the development and progression of this disease. Although education has been identified as a factor affecting treatment adherence, on-going education for diabetes typically occurs in the early stages. This pilot study consisted of a quantitative, comparative study utilizing tele-health as the primary form of educational reinforcement for latent stage, low-income diabetics. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that there are 1.6-3.8 million sports related traumatic brain injuries in the United States annually which occur in both mainstream and extreme sports. Many of these concussions have been associated with collisional sports, like football, but high risk extreme sports, like motocross, also have many opportunities for collisions to occur. The study examined the foot care knowledge and foot care habits of a random sample (n = 540) of residents of Chatham County, Georgia. Data were collected using a mail survey which had a response rate of 26.29% (142 responses). Data analysis indicated that foot pain and discomfort are a significant problem for more than half of the respondents (57.87%). The emphasis of fashion over fit of both shoe-manufacturers, and society in general, appears to contribute significantly to the problem. Lack of education in preventive measures for foot health is also a significant contributing factor. Replication of the study is …
