Single Step Synthesis Of Antibiotic Kanamycin Embedded Gold Nanoparticles For Efficient Antibacterial Activity, Shravan Gavva
Single Step Synthesis Of Antibiotic Kanamycin Embedded Gold Nanoparticles For Efficient Antibacterial Activity, Shravan Gavva
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Nanotechnology has become the most advanced type of drug delivery system within the last decade. This advancement shifted the focus on small carriers to increase the efficiency of the drugs. Among these, gold nanoparticles (GNPs) were found to have profound biomedical applications. In current research, kanamycin embedded GNPs were prepared in a single step, single phase, and bio-friendly (green synthesis) procedure. The synthesized Kanamycin-GNPs (Kan-GNPs) were spherical in shape and had a size range of 15 ± 3 nm. The chosen kanamycin is an aminoglycosidic antibiotic that is isolated from Streptomyces kanamyceticus. These special antibiotic GNPs are further characterized using …

An Investigation Of Dialysis Patients' Medication Compliance And The Relationship Of Physician Ordering Practices, Adele Curtis
An Investigation Of Dialysis Patients' Medication Compliance And The Relationship Of Physician Ordering Practices, Adele Curtis
Master's Theses and Doctoral Dissertations
In-center dialysis patients have multiple physicians involved in their care related to complications of end stage renal disease and the start of dialysis. This study reviewed the number of physicians involved in the participants’ (n=41) care and determined if it was associated with medication compliance and additionally assessed the in-center dialysis facility staff’s ability to keep up-to-date home medication orders. Participant interviews, home medication reviews, and reconciliations were completed. The average number of medications ordered per participant was 11.58, and 37% of all medications ordered needed corrections made to the home medication orders. The average number of physicians per participant …
The Health And Well-Being Of Indigenous Drug And Alcohol Workers: Results From A National Australian Survey, Ann M. Roche, Vinita Duraisingam, Allan Trifonoff, Amanda Tovell
The Health And Well-Being Of Indigenous Drug And Alcohol Workers: Results From A National Australian Survey, Ann M. Roche, Vinita Duraisingam, Allan Trifonoff, Amanda Tovell
Aboriginal Policy Research Consortium International (APRCi)
The increasing demand for alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment services among the Australian Indigenous population, complex organisational challenges and limitations, and high unemployment rates are likely to negatively impact Indigenous AOD workers' health and well-being. Building the capacity of Indigenous AOD workers is vital, as they play a crucial role in the delivery of treatment services and offer essential support to their communities. A national online survey was conducted to examine organisational, workplace and individual factors that might contribute to levels of stress and well-being among workers who provide services to Indigenous clients. A total of 294 eligible surveys …
