The purpose of this study was to survey successful contact lens patients and compare their degree of success with wearers of different types of lenses, ie, hard (PMMA,) gas permeable, daily soft, and extended wear soft lenses). Approximately 40 consecuÂtive, phakic patients in each group who had worn their lenses at least 12 hours a day for a period of at least six months, were compared for degree of comfort , visual attainment, prevalence of signs and symptoms, and a desire to seek a more ideal form of visual correction.
