Background: Adult inpatient falls remain a significant challenge in many hospitals, resulting in poor quality of life and severe financial burden. There have been tremendous efforts to curb the number of falls ranging from environmental modification, clinician education, review of medications, and use of assistive devices. One such assistive device is the use of camera monitoring systems. This systemic review scopes camera/video-assisted fall prevention programs in hospitals. It was hypothesized that camera/video-assisted fall prevention programs would reduce adult inpatient fall and costs significantly. Migraine headaches continue to be a prominent health concern, affecting a large percentage of the population globally. These headaches have many negative impacts on patients’ lives, including decreased productivity, missed time at work or school, increased suicidal tendencies, and a decreased overall quality of life. The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a prevalent virus and the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) worldwide. Nearly 80 million people, approximately one in four, are currently infected in the United States (US). Given that HPV infections affects over 20 million Americans with possible life-threatening consequences, the importance of adhering to the recommended two-dose or three-dose vaccination series has a significant impact on cancer prevention. Research studies have suggested that adolescents and young adults are at an increased risk of STIs and low HPV vaccination rates. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive lung disease with potential to interfere with breathing ability. It is the third leading cause of 30-day readmission and death in the US, and the leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. While healthcare is intended to promote and restore optimal health and quality of life, it has been realized that patients often experience unintended harm while consuming healthcare services. In a project conducted in a 12-bed intensive care unit, nurses completed a pre-survey to identify a baseline understanding of patient safety principles. They then completed online educational modules designed to teach patient safety principles including patient and family centered healthcare, systems safety, and culture of safety. Following the educational intervention, a postsurvey to assess for increased understanding was administered. With the rise of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the past thirty years, people of all ages, infants to elderly alike, all over the world, suffer from its adverse effects. Even an unborn baby in-utero can contract this virulent infection by means of mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) (Sweeney, 2005). Infants and children diseased in this way comprise 90% of the estimated 800,000 new cases of HIV in children seen each year, but the region hit hardest, however, is Sub-Saharan Africa, with the country of Uganda historically having the highest incident rate for a time (Stringer, E.M., et al. 2008).
