Therapeutic Options In The Management Of Sleep Disorders In Visually Impaired Children: A Systematic Review, Sohil Khan, Helen Heussler, Treasure Mcguire, Carolyn Dakin, David Pache, Ross Norris, David Cooper, Bruce Charles

Treasure McGuire

Background: Treatment of sleep disorders in visually impaired children is complicated by a complex pathophysiology, a high incidence of sleep disorders in this population, and a dearth of management options. The significant impact on the health of these children and distress to their caregivers warrant a systematic assessment of the published literature on therapeutic approaches. Objective: This systematic review aims to assess the current therapeutic options in the management of sleep disorders in visually impaired children to identify knowledge gaps and guide future research. Methods: A search of primary literature was conducted using the bibliographic databases PubMed (1980-August 2010), EMBASE …

• Select approaches to the management of unresponsive hypotension, discomfort, delirium, refractory hemorrhage, nutrition support, uncontrolled intracranial pressure (ICP), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) associated vasospasm, suspected heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), and antimicrobial failure • Evaluate the data on therapies of choice for the above-mentioned therapeutic dilemmas • Apply the appropriate therapy to patient care for these controversial situations

Cold And Heat Pattern Of Rheumatoid Arthritis In Traditional Chinese Medicine: Distinct Molecular Signatures Indentified By Microarray Expression Profiles In Cd-4 Positive T Cell., C Lu, C Xiao, G Chen, M Jiang, Q Zha, X Yan, W Kong, Aiping Lu

Professor LU, Aiping

The research is aimed to explore the distinct molecular signatures in discriminating the rheumatoid arthritis patients with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) cold pattern and heat pattern. Twenty patients with typical TCM cold pattern and heat pattern were included. Microarray technology was used to reveal gene expression profiles in CD4+ T cells. The signal intensity of each expressed gene was globally normalized using the R statistics program. The ratio of cold pattern to heat pattern in patients with RA at more or less than 1:2 was taken as the differential gene expression criteria. Protein-protein interaction information for these genes from databases …
