The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
The objective of this study was to evaluate the response of the pulp-dentin complex to Research Unit-Herbal Medicine, Biomaterial and Material 1 (RU-HBM1), a resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI) cement prototype, in deep cavity of porcine teeth compared with commercial RMGIs. Six 14-week-old pigs were used in this study. Deep class V cavity was created on the buccal surface of canine, premolar, and molar teeth. The teeth were randomly lined with the design cement bases: RU-HBM1, Vitrebond (VB), or GC-Gold Label Light-Cured Universal Restorative (GC). After that, the cavity walls were treated with 30% phosphoric acid and washed. Then, a bonding …

Effects Of Acetic Acid Supplementation In Broiler Chickens Orallychallenged With Salmonella Pullorum, Gulbeena Saleem, Rukhshanda Ramzaan, Farina Malik Khattak, Raheela Akhtar
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
This study was conducted to investigate the comparative efficacy of three different concentrations of acetic acid on broiler chickens experimentally challenged with Salmonella enterica serovar Pullorum (S. Pullorum). A total of 360 birds were divided into five groups (A?E). Group A served as the unchallenged, untreated control. All the birds in groups B?E were challenged with 4 × 104 cfu/mL of S. Pullorum. Birds in groups C, D, and E were respectively treated with three different concentrations, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%, of acetic acid. Pathological examination revealed congested and hemorrhagic liver, hepatitis and necrotic areas in the liver, hydropericardium, focal …

Molecular Identification Of Bovine Papillomaviruses In Dairy And Beef Cattle: First Description Of Xi- And Epsilonpapillomavirus In Turkey, Veysel Soydal Ataseven, Özgür Kanat, Yaşar Ergün
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
In the current study, 23 papilloma/tumor-like samples obtained from cattle having clinical lesions and 9 blood samples collected from healthy-appearing cattle in Turkey were examined for bovine papillomavirus (BPV) DNA using the degenerate primers FAP59/64, and the different types of BPV were distinguished by type-specific primer sets. Furthermore, histopathological studies of papillomavirus were performed. A total of 7 BPV types (BPVs 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9), including genera Deltapapillomavirus, Xipapillomavirus, and Epsilonpapillomavirus, were identified. In all samples, BPV-1 was the most common genotype (90.6%). Overall, coinfections were determined in 26 of the examined samples (81.3%), and coinfection with …
