Detection Of Rabies Virus Specific Antibody In Stray Dogs In Palestine, Adnan Fayyad, Nasr Jalboush, Ibrahim Alzuheir, Belal Abu Helal, Mohammad Manasrah

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Stray dogs are considered as a major public health risk in rabies-endemic countries such as Palestine. The objective of the present study was to assess the presence of antibody against rabies in stray dogs in order to estimate the immune status of stray dogs for the purpose of risk management. The present study reports the first investigation for the detection of specific antibodies to rabies virus (RABV) in the serum of stray dogs in Palestine. The serum samples were collected randomly from 92 stray dogs from different seven Palestinian districts and were tested for the presence of antirabies antibodies by …

Validation Of Commercially Available Eia Kit For Measurement Of Feline Plasma Kisspeptin, Prattana Tanyapanyachon, Junpen Suwimonteerabutr, Olga Amelkina, Kaywalee Chatdarong Sep 2019

Validation Of Commercially Available Eia Kit For Measurement Of Feline Plasma Kisspeptin, Prattana Tanyapanyachon, Junpen Suwimonteerabutr, Olga Amelkina, Kaywalee Chatdarong

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Circulating kisspeptin is described to be related with the reproductive system. Astudy of plasma kisspeptin levels, thus, willprovide the better understanding of reproductive endocrinology in the domestic cat. The present study aimed (i) to validate the only available commercial kisspeptin EIA kit which is currently used in humansto be used in domestic catsand (ii) to determine and compare the plasma kisspeptin levels at different reproductive stages. The intra-assay coefficient of variation (CV) was 11.13%. The inter-assay CV ranged from 5.00 –8.25%. The parallel graphs represented the homology between human kisspeptin and feline endogenous kisspeptin. The recovery rate ranged from 78% …

Risk Factors Associated With Seroprevalence Of Paratuberculosis In Mature Goats In Northeastern Thailand, Sarinya Rerkyusuke, Kwankate Kanistanon, Sarthorn Porntrakulpipat, Aran Janlun

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

The aim of this study was to investigate risk factors for the seroprevalence of paratuberculosis in mature goats in Northeastern Thailand. The study area included Buriram, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakham, Nakhonratchasrima, Roi et, Sakon Nakhon, Srisaket, and Udonthani. The seroprevalence of paratuberculosis determined in 37 herds, a total of 671 serum samples, was 12.82%. The risk factors related to paratuberculosis were analyzed at individual level using mixed model logistic regression. At the individual level, 86 of 671 goats tested positive based on an ELISA assay. Risk factors associated with the seroprevalence of MAP antibodies included age, divided into six …

Development Of Elisa And Serum Plate Agglutination For Detecting Antibodies Of Mycoplasma Gallisepticum Using Strain Of Thai Isolate, Wisanu Wanasawaeng, Supawadee Chaichote, Niwat Chansiripornchai Dec 2015

Development Of Elisa And Serum Plate Agglutination For Detecting Antibodies Of Mycoplasma Gallisepticum Using Strain Of Thai Isolate, Wisanu Wanasawaeng, Supawadee Chaichote, Niwat Chansiripornchai

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

The aim of the present study was to develop enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and serum plate agglutination (SPA) for detecting antibodies of Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG), using a Thai isolated field strain. MG isolation and identification was performed using conventional culture method, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) and Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). The growth characteristics of each strain were analyzed to determine the most appropriate conditions for the cultivation of MG. The results indicated that the Thai isolated field strain gave the highest growth rate of MG yield with a peak concentration of 1.4 X …

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Bovine tuberculosis (BTB) is a contagious zoonotic disease that causes serious public health concerns. Cervidae are highly susceptible to BTB and it has been diagnosed in various deer species. In order to develop BTB eradication and control program, Mycobacterium bovis Bacille Calmette Guerin (BCG) vaccination has been studied in cervids. In this study 15 rusa deer were tested for responsiveness to mycobacterial reaction using a comparative cervical skin test (CCT). The rusa deer were divided into 2 groups; BCG vaccination group, which were inoculated with a single dose of 2x106 cfu M. bovis BCG Tokyo subcutaneously (n=8) and control group …

Development Of Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay To Detect Antibodies Against Chicken Infectious Anemia Virus, Niwat Chansiripornchai, Sangkae Pongthanes, Piyarat Chansiripornchai, Wisanu Wanasawaeng Sep 2013

Development Of Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay To Detect Antibodies Against Chicken Infectious Anemia Virus, Niwat Chansiripornchai, Sangkae Pongthanes, Piyarat Chansiripornchai, Wisanu Wanasawaeng

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

standardized and robust indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to detect antibodies against chicken infectious anemia virus (CIAV) was developed. Thai CIAV was isolated and used for the entirety of this study. For virus cultivation, a cell density of MDCC-MSB1 cells at 3 x 106 cells/ml and a fetal bovine serum concentration at 10 percent were the most appropriate for Thai CIAV. Then, crude virus of CIAV was prepared using ultracentrifugation technique. To develop the ELISA test, optimal dilution of goat anti-chicken IgG was 1 : 200 and antigen concentration in the ELISA was 1.00 μg/ml, as determined by checkerboard titration. …

Presence Of Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus On Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss) By Histopathology, Elisa And Rt-Pcr, Gabriel Aguirre-Guzmán, Ned Iván Iván De La Cruz-Hernández, Jesús Genaro Sánchez-Martínez Mar 2011

Presence Of Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus On Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss) By Histopathology, Elisa And Rt-Pcr, Gabriel Aguirre-Guzmán, Ned Iván Iván De La Cruz-Hernández, Jesús Genaro Sánchez-Martínez

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) culture in Mexico experiences sporadic and significant fish mortalities, wheredisease signs are associated with infectious pancreatic necrosis virus disease (IPNV). The purpose of the present workwas to support the potential of ELISA, histopathology, and RT-PCR as routine techniques for IPNV detection.Fourteen trout farms were monitored after a disease outbreak. Positive results were confirmed in different collectedorganisms from 21% of tested farms by all 3 techniques. Virus detection by ELISA and RT-PCR was successfullyperformed in only two days after the initial signs of disease were observed in fish, since these methods are fasterwhen compared to histopathology, which only …
