Outcome Of Endovascular Procedure In Chronic Limb Ischemia Femoropopliteal Lesion: A Literature Review, Alexander J. Utama, Robby E. Thio

The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery

Introduction. Angioplasty and stenting are the two main endovascular treatments for femoropopliteal lesions associated with chronic limb ischemia. To summarize the research in this area, this article examines the state of these treatments today, diving into clinical subtleties and new trends. The objectives was to thoroughly analyze the body of research, combining knowledge about the results of endovascular angioplasty and stenting.

Methods: Literature was searched in some databases (Cochrane, PubMed, and EBSCO) from June to July 2021.

Results: Five articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were identified. There were two randomized control trials and three cohort …

Impact Of Advanced Trauma Life Support Training For Improving Mortality Outcome: A Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis, Afid B. Putra, Luthfian A. Nurachman, Bagus A. Suryawiditya, Muftah Risyaldi, Lam Sihardo Jun 2023

Impact Of Advanced Trauma Life Support Training For Improving Mortality Outcome: A Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis, Afid B. Putra, Luthfian A. Nurachman, Bagus A. Suryawiditya, Muftah Risyaldi, Lam Sihardo

The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery

Introduction. The Global Burden of Disease Study has identified injuries as one of the top ten causes of death and disability worldwide. Injury is predicted to rise in the rankings by the year 2030. This study aimed to quantify the effectiveness of an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training in improving mortality outcome after trauma injury.

Method. This is a systematic review (of experimental and observational studies) and meta-analysis, reporting mortality outcome from trauma injury between ATLS-trained/certified physicians vs non-ATLS-certified. We performed literature searching through 3 electronic databases, including Cochrane (CENTRAL), MEDLINE (PubMed), and Scopus.

Results. There are summarized results …

Prognostic Factors For Mortality Of Pediatric Burn Injury In A National Tertiary Referral Center, Heru Angkoso, Aria Kekalih Dec 2022

Prognostic Factors For Mortality Of Pediatric Burn Injury In A National Tertiary Referral Center, Heru Angkoso, Aria Kekalih

The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery

Introduction. In Indonesia, burn injuries cause about 195,000 deaths annually. Data from the Ministry of the Health Republic of Indonesia showed the incidence of burns predominated at 1-4 years old. The mortality of pediatric burn patients in a tertiary hospital was 37.26%. This study aimed to find an association between known and unknown prognostic factors of mortality in Indonesian-specific characteristics.

Method. A retrospective analytical study included all pediatric burns admitted to Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital (CMGH) from 1998 to 2010. Variables within a period of the first 72 hours of admission were the focus of interest and were extracted …

Prognostic And Predictive Factors Of Mortality In Burn Patients At Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Indonesia, Muhamad Irfan A. Hasibuan, Yefta Moenadjat Dec 2021

Prognostic And Predictive Factors Of Mortality In Burn Patients At Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Indonesia, Muhamad Irfan A. Hasibuan, Yefta Moenadjat

The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery

Introduction. Some prognostic– and predictive factors in burn have never been investigated in Indonesian specific characteristics, which is delayed treatment. A study was conducted to determine prognostic and predictive factors in this specific characteristic.

Method. A retrospective cohort focused on burn mortality in extensive burns managed in CMGH from 1998–2010. Some known prognostic– and predictive factors and unknown ones were the variables of interest. Bivariate and multivariate using logistic regression analysis proceeded to find out these factors.

Results. Out of all factors investigated, the variables that showed a significant correlation were: TBSA, inhalation injury, Baux score, revised …
