It is common for athletes to use blood lactate for the determination of performance as well as for the development of training volumes. Depending on the mode, duration, and intensity, the sample site at which blood lactate is drawn becomes important. Due to the debate of sample site, research has been ongoing. There has yet to be a collective investigation examining three sample sites and maximal anaerobic exercise while considering the role of inactive muscle.
